If you prefer the cables to twist the other way, cable back instead of front, and
do K2Tog in place of SSK.

BO = Bind off
CO = Cast on
CF6 = slip 3 stitches onto cable needle & hold in front, knit the next 3 stitches,
then knit the 3 stitches from the cable needle
CF4 = slip 2 stitches onto cable needle & hold in front, knit the next 2 stitches,
then knit the 2 stitches from the cable needle
DK = DK weight yarn

Please read "Notes" section before beginning; it contains almost everything I
think you may need to know to work this pattern.
WW yarn. US8 needles. CO 96 sts, join in round, careful not to twist the
stitches.
K2P2 ribbing for 1 to 3 inches depending on length you desire and whether you
want the brim to fold up.
Round 1: * K2 P2 K6 P2 *
Round 2: * K2 P2 K6 P2 *
Round 3: * K2 P2 K6 P2 *
Round 4: * K2 P2 K6 P2 *
Round 5: * K2 P2 CF6 P2 *
Round 6: * K2 P2 K6 P2 *
Round 7: * K2 P2 K6 P2 *
Round 8: * K2 P2 K6 P2 *
Repeats Rounds 1-8 two more times. (Repeat rounds 1-8 one or more times if
you want the hat to be longer)
Decrease Round 1: * SSK P2 K6 P2 *
