providing their needs and delegating individual responsibilities in order to come up with the most
efficient and effective performance.
Patrol therefore is an indispensable unit of the PNP, which requires great attention on their
welfare, innovations for their professional growth, support and motivations for them to gain
respect and recognition from the public, which in turn will redound to the image of the whole
organization. As such, a personnel of the law is presumed capable and knowledgeable to serve

As part of their service police, they render their effort to patrol their assigned vicinity or area.
Nowadays, there are a lot of victim of pick pocketing, burglary and vehicle theft. The increasing
numbers of crimes in our society are getting alarming. According to the Senate Economic
Planning Office (SEPO) crime statistics, they show that of the year 2009 to 2012 crime rate
percentage. We have the highest percentage of crime in year 2009. It is 44.9% and it drops in
years 2010 to 2012. In year 2010, we have 28.2%, in year 2011, we have 20.9% and it continues
to go down in year 2012 it is 18.9%. It means we are having good techniques in crime prevention
and one of these is police visibility. As you can see the numbers of crime are decreasing
nowadays and it is because of police presence. Thats why police visibility plays an important
role in maintaining peace and order. Through police visibility or the presence of police personnel
in an area, they can deter criminal from doing a crime. Also through police visibility, the criminal
can be apprehended in a short time, fast and easy.

In this study, the researchers aim to know the effectiveness of police and barangay police
personnel around City of Dasmarias at Barangay Paliparan III as a help in crime prevention.
They would like to know the impact of police visibility in crime prevention, and the level of
effectiveness of police visibility. They want to see if the participants of Paliparan III are satisfied
with the police visibility they receive and what are the things they can contribute in the
effectiveness of our police visibility for the crime prevention.
Statement of the Problem
This study aims to answer the following questions regarding the police visibility of
Dasmarias PNP in Paliparan III. Specifically this will answer the following questions:
1. What are the common problems encountered by the police personnel and barangay
tanod in crime prevention?
2. What is the impact of police visibility in crime prevention?

The body framework shows that police and barangay tanod; conduct omnipresence and
patrol in a form of police visibility, that helps maintain orderliness resulting to crime prevention
in Paliparan III, Dasmarias City. To know the common problems encountered by the police
personnel and barangay tanod, they will interview 3 participants that are living in Barangay

Paliparan III. The independent variable is the police visibility of both police personnel and
barangay tanods while the dependent variable is the crime prevention. Through the responses of
the respondents, the researchers gathered all the required information to answer the two (2)
statement of the problem.
Significance of the Study
This research can be served as guidelines or reference. The result of the study can be useful to
the following:
College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) students. It can deter crime or not and also to
let them know how the PNP conduct a police visibility in order to deter crime. Also to let them
know, how police visibility helps in crime prevention in Barangay Paliparan 3, in City of
Dasmarias, province of Cavite, a place where the crime rate is high.
College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) Faculty. It can also serve as their reference
about how the Philippine National Police (PNP) conduct police visibility in an area especially in
a place where the crime rate is high, to the purpose of crime prevention.
Community. To know if they do really feel secure when there is a police visibility in an area and
also for them to be knowledgeable on how the police or Philippine National Police (PNP) works
to protect them and prevent crime on happening with the use of police visibility.
Philippine National Police (PNP). This research can be used by the PNP to know if their
visibility really works. Especially in a place like Barangay Paliparan 3 in City of Dasmarias,
Province of Cavite where the crime is known to be the highest crime rate in Dasmarias. To
know what the community see or feel when they conducting the police visibility. It can help
them to know if their duty as an police personnel really works.

Government (DILG).

The commission can improve the level of effectiveness of police

visibility in an area where the crime rate is high like in Barangay Paliparan 3, City of
Dasmarias, Province of Cavite, by enhancing the policies, rules and regulation in conducting
police visibility effectively.
Future Researcher. The future researcher can use this research as a reference for their study. It
will show them the effectiveness of police visibility as perceived by the participants of Barangay
Paliparan 3, City of Dasmarias, Province of Cavite. This will explain how police visibility can
deter and prevent crime and how the community feels when there is PNP personnel conducting
police visibility in the area.
Scope and Limitation of the Study
This study focuses on the impact of police and barangay police personnel in crime
prevention in Paliparan III, City of Dasmarias, Province of Cavite. The respondents of the study
will be 10 Brgy. Paliparan III participants. They were chosen because of their years of residency
which gave them the qualification to be our interviewee.
