Painting Tutorial Tobias Wenzel

Devil Dogs USMC Fire Squad

Down and Dirty
2. Glue the head to the torso and
remove the mold lines with a
sharp knife. To bring out details,
wash the miniature completely
with the Dark Tone Ink.

1. Marines in body
bags never a good
sight. Draw your
bayonet, free them
from the plastic and
let them breathe!

3. Paint uniform with Vallejo Model Air

Blue RLM65. You will need to paint two
or three layers. For the leather parts,
use Vallejo Model Color Mahagoni
Brown 70.846. (Continuedonpage6.)

Painting Tutorial Tobias Wenzel

6. For clothing and skin wash using the Strong Tone

and for the metal parts Dark Tone. Just paint it all over.

4. Paint the pouches, belt and canteen

Vallejo Model Color Brown Violet 70.887. For
the skin, begin with Citadel Tallarn Flesh and
then dry brush with Citadel Dwarf Flesh.

5. Boots should be painted Black and the

holster will be painted Leather Brown. For
metal parts, mix Gunmetal Metal and
Army Painter Dark Tone Ink 1:1, getting a
bit darker silver and the color is also more
fluid.

7. Dry brush the uniform

with another Green Grey
70971 (Green Grey used
as the camouflage
basecoat).
8. Use weathering powder
on the boots and legs.
Just mix a bit powder and
a few drops water. Then
paint it on the legs and
boots.

5. For the rucksack, use Valejo Model Color

Ger. C. Beige WW II 70.821. For camouflage
parts like the helmet cover, start by using Valejo
Model Color Green Grey 70.886. The
Camouflage pattern can be created by painting
dots with Yellow Green and Flat Earth.

Objective:

Attacker and Defender Tips:

The Attackers objective is to cross the river

by any means necessary, and reach the
defenders deployment zone. If the attacker
has a ground unit (armor class [Soldier
Symbol] or [Tank Symbol]) in the
defenders deployment zone at the end of
round 8, the Attacker is victorious.

Attacker, beware snipers. Engineers may become a prime target and there is plenty of opportunity to snipe
targets in the open as the cross the bridge.
Attacker, dont be afraid to split your forces. The thinner the enemy must stretch their own line, the easier it
will be to punch through a hole somewhere.
Attacker, note that pontoon bridges can be deployed as long as you are adjacent to a water square, even
while standing on other bridges. A Command Squad inside a Command Vehicle could quickly lay several
adjacent pontoon bridges and lay down plenty of supporting fire while doing so.

The Defenders objective is to prevent the

attacker from succeeding in his objective.

Defender, watch for amphibious units and transport aircraft. There is more than one way to cross the river.
