Greetings to you in the precious name of Christ,

Events that often happen, whether they are good or bad, often serve
to remind us of God's ever presence. And often when we think of Him

being right there, it changes our outlook on the events surrounding

us. That is what Jonathan and I strive to remember, that God is EVER
there and that He is in control. Praise the Lord for that!
For every
thing that we think and do, it should serve only to glorify our loving
Father in heaven.

Our last month was a time of joy and some trials mingled in. Jonathan
and his dad, Al, were able to travel to Pennsylvania for the orientation
they were leading for the team going to Bratislava, Slovakia. They
are quite sure that the team is ready to go and quite eager as well.
They had a good time rejoicing and teaching these young women and young
man about what missions is all about and what is expected of them in
their year of schooling in Slovakia. The team is leaving around the
19th of August and will fly to Budapest so Kevin Maclnturff to meet
them and take them to Bratislava. Please remember them in your prayers
for their safe travels and for the opportunities that they will have.
Jonathan and Al were glad to report that a good time was had by all
at

the orientation.

After the orientation, Jonathan had a doctor's appointment in Michigan,

so he thought that he would be home right after that, but was he?
No!
He had a bit of a cold when he left here for the orientation,
and with him on the go, it turned into pnuemonia and he also had an
infection in his lungs. So the doctor ordered him on two weeks of
Iv therapy and antibiotics. We were so thankful that there was a family
that opened their home to us (I flew out to be with him) and made us
feel right at home. So a big thank-you goes out to the Dave and Laurie
Hildreth family for their kind hospitality and love that was shown.
We are so thankful for your prayers that have been offered up on Jonathan's
behalf. For now he is resting up and I am trying to make him take
it easier before our summer travelling begins!
As I mentioned in the beginning of

something special in store for Jonathan
that God grants him every day.

We want to thank you all again for the prayers and for the support
that you all have been so faithful with.

Please be in prayer for these matters:

Jonathan's health and our travels

Please be assured that you all are in our thoughts and prayers daily.
May God continue to richly bless you as you serve Him,

We rejoice with the team

from Penn State University who are
planning to leave for Bratislava, Slovakia around the 20th of
August.
George, Marianne, Sue Ellen and Jerrilynn are all ready
and anxious to get there and to share Christ with the people
that live in SLovakia.
Pray that things will go well and that
the transition will go smoothly as they prepare to be students.
Also, be in prayer for the new contacts that will be made as
they arrive.
We
to

rejoice about the opportunities that Sheila and I have had

travel and share with people a small part of the burden we
have for
lost people around the world.
The past three months
have been exciting with camps, speaking and recovering from
pneumonia, meeting new people, all of these things have been
rewarding to us.
The high school camp in Slippery Rock, PA
went well.
There are several people who showed interest in
missions and we pray that we will see them overseas sometime
in the

near

future.

Dad and I had a very nice time together traveling to Riverton,

Wyoming last weekend.
I preached at the Christian Church there.
It was especially nice to have Dad with me as we are usually
traveling in different directions so i t was nice to be together
on a trip again.

Let's get up
and go to these areas while the opportunity is there.
The only
reason why the world is not reached with the Gospel of Christ
is because so few people want to go and tell them. Everyone
has their reasons why not to go, but do we realize that on
judgment day we will be giving God the same reasons?
Let's
quit finding reasons why we can't go and start believing that

If you would like for us to come and speak to your Church and
update you on our work and plans, please let us know.
Again, thank-you for all of your prayers and love!

September, 1994
Dear Friends,

It has been a wonderful and busy summer for us.

We have

really enjoyed seeing everyone, old friends and making new ones.
We had a great time at Martelle Christian Church at their

Vacation Bible School. The people were very generous and the
Ehresmans were so good to put up with us and to take care of
us.

Thank-you all again.

Dick Smith organized a real exciting week of camp in

Washington, Indiana, We had a great time being a part of that
week. We praise God for the decisions that were made during
that time. Thank-you Dick for inviting us to come.
Even though we have a few people already planning to go
to Southeast Asia this January, we are still looking for more.
We still need recruits for Europe, Africa, China, Russia and
several other areas. Continue to pray the Lord of the harvest
to send more laborers into the fields. We also pray that the
people will respond to the call.

The Bratislava team arrived in Budapest, Hungary and plan

to travel to Bratislava the 8th of September. They are getting
some cultural orientation from our missionary, Kevin Maclnturff.
They are getting ready to start their year of language studies
and evangelism. Continue to pray for them and for opportunities
that they will have. I am sure that Kevin and his family would
appreciate your prayers as he continues the work there in
Budapest and as he takes care of the Bratislava team.

Sheila and I are enjoying a couple of weeks at home before

we take off for a month of traveling.

We will be spending a

weekend in Arizona before we start east.

We have to be in

Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia and then to Peoria, Illinois

for the Missionary Convention, at the end of October.

Please

pray for our safe travels and that we would boldly preach the
message God has given us as we recruit for all these unreached
countries.
We are still hoping to move south for the winter.

Pray that we will be able to do that. We love you all and praise
God for you. We pray with you that everyone may have everyone

may have the opportunity to know the surpassing value of knowing

Christ Jesus our Lord.
