JUDICIAL AFFIDAVIT
I, Noel A. Lasanas, of legal age, married, and living at Barangay Obrero, Lapuz,
Iloilo City, accused in this case, after having been duly sworn in accordance with law, state
under oath that:
1. Q: Please state your name, age, and other circumstances.
A: I am Noel A. Lasanas, of legal age, married, and living at Barangay Obrero, Lapuz,
Iloilo City.
2. Q: Are you the same Noel Lasanas, the accused in this case?
A: Yes sir.
3. Q: Do you know a certain Socorro Patingo?
A: Yes sir, she is my first wife.
4. Q: Your first wife, did you marry her?
A: Yes sir. We first got married on Feb. 16, 1968 officiated by Hon. Carlos B. Salazar,
a Municipal Judge of San Miguel, Iloilo City. On Aug. 27, 1980, our marriage was
ratified by a church wedding at San Jose Church, Iloilo City before Fr. Rodolfo
Tamayo.
5. Q: How did you meet Socorro?
A: She was introduced to me by Raul L. Cataloctocan because I needed to consult a
babaylan for treatment.
6. Q: What happened on the day of February 16, 1968?
A: I was invited by Socorro at Dainty Restaurant. After eating, I was made to sign a
marriage contract and then we went to live as husband and wife on her house at
Barangay Banga, Mina, Iloilo City.
7. Q: How was your married life?
A: From the start, it was rocked with marital differences, quarrels and her constant
jealousy. I wanted to leave her but I was always afraid with her. A normal day to her
was filled with quarrels and constant nagging.
8. Q: Why are you afraid of her?

A: I was afraid because she told me that she would castrate me if I leave and that
she will give me an incurable illness if I will not marry her again in Church.
9. Q: For the second celebration of your marriage with Socorro, did you obtain a
marriage license?
A: No sir.
10.Q: What about an affidavit of cohabitation?
A: We did not execute any affidavit sir.
11.Q: What is the reason of your separation with Socorro?
A: Her infidelity and constant marital breaches was too much for me to handle that
is why I bravely left her.
12.Q: Can you tell me who is Josefa Eslaban?
A: She is my current wife sir.
13.Q: You mean you married again?
A: Yes sir.
14.Q: When was your marriage with Josefa celebrated?
A: We got married on December 27, 1993 at Sta. Maria Church in Iloilo City.
15.Q: Who solemnized the marriage?
A: It was solemnized by Fr. Ramon Sequito.
16.Q: In your marriage contract with Josefa, your marital status is single, why is that?
A: Because I believe that I am not legally married with Socorro it being void from the
beginning for lack of marriage license.
17.Q: What is the status of your marriage with Socorro at the time when you married
Josefa?
A: I firmly believe that it was void.
