Meet the new President-Elect

of Mass A.G. Bell!
Please join me in welcoming Caitlin Parton as the president-elect of Mass
A.G. Bell! She will assume the presidency in November 2015, taking the
reins from Evan Brunell, who will have served five years in the role.
Caitlin is a staff attorney for Disability Law Center in Boston, the
protection and advocacy agency for the state of Massachusetts. She
represents clients with disabilities, including those who are deaf and hard
of hearing. Caitlin is deaf and wears one cochlear implant. She was the
youngest at the time to receive a cochlear implant, when it was still in
FDA-investigative status. Caitlin has been an advocate for the deaf and hard of
hearing from a young age, testifying before the Senate and FDA in support of funding for
research on cochlear implants. She has spoken across the country and internationally on access
to education and the benefits of listening and spoken language.

Other New Board Members

Along with a new president elect, Mass A.G. Bell also expanded our board in other areas! We
added a new Assistant Director of Bells Kids, Director of Communications, and Assistant Director
of Bells Teens. Please see their profiles below:
Hannah Casucci, who previously served as Mass AG Bell Communications Director, is
the incoming Director of Bells Kids. She has a B.A. in psychology, graduating from
Smith College with a masters in Education for the Deaf. Hannah has profound hearing
loss, and wears bilateral cochlear implants.
Martha deHahn is the Communications Director for Mass AG Bell, and is tasked with
overseeing Mass AG Bells e-mail list and calendar of events. She serves as the
Outreach Coordinator for Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech. Martha has a long
history of involvement with the deaf community. She is a parent of two young adults
who were both born with profound hearing loss.
Jamieson Smith attends high school as a student who is hard-of-hearing and uses
cochlear implants. He serves as the Assistant Teen Director, acting as a liaison for
teenagers and contributing to event scheduling. He is also an ambassador for
Cochlear Americas and is a mentor for Clarke Schools Buddies program.
The board also is comprised of Evan Brunell, president; Kasey Kodack, director of marketing; Lori
Glassman, treasurer/clerk; and Lisa Adams, director of Bells Kids.
