all instruction in this manual and to respect recommendations reported about safety before
attempting any use of these devices.
Installation, service and maintenance of all devices which are part of the system is reserved to
technical personnel, qualified and trained, with adequate experience and professional.
Even if the unit SIMPLY has been designed and manufactured to ensure utmost safety during
use, installation and examination, a lack of respect of the indication herein reported can result in a
potential risk for user patient and things.

IONIZING RADIATION PROTECTION

An excess of X-Ray dose is a well known risk for health, and an improper use of Radio diagnostic
devices is a possible cause for such excesses.
Users of X-ray units, like those described in this manual, and technicians in charge of installation
and maintenance, are mandatory required to be informed on risk coming for
X-ray exposure
excess and to keep safe themselves as well as patient and all people eventually exposed to the
same risk. A proper use of all standard means of protection is needed in this purpose.
Specifically is mandatory required that users and all personnel eventually required in the
radiological room will be informed on the International regulations for X-Ray protection and
respect all indication mentioned there.

SPECIFIC WARNINGS
All mechanical components and mobile parts which are included in the standard featuring of this
system shall be used carefully and precisely, in respect of what described herein and according to
the indication of the present manual. A lack of respect of these indications may result in a collision
with patient, users, other operator or object present in the X-Ray room.
It is forbidden for all non authorized personnel to access to the internal part of the devices,
especially removing protective cores and carters: only skilled and qualified personnel can remove
these carters and attempt intervention to powered parts or other components for ordinary and

offers in terms of Safety and environment protection. If this device is used
properly there are no risks for user, patient and for the surrounding environment.
In order to satisfy all existing norms in terms of safety and environment
protection, its been necessary to use material which can result hazardous if
improperly wasted, like oil the x-ray monoblock or lead of x-ray shields.
As a consequence, whenever necessary, it is mandatory to provide a suitable
waste of those product and material, according to all existing norms and
regulations for waste management.
Arcom s.r.l. would like to remind you that it is not possible to waste this item as a
standard industrial or private waste, as it has to be treated as special waste.

3.3 Protections against ionizing radiations

Warning: before execution of any procedure, take care of activation of all safety
measures against radiation.

During X-Ray examination, all personnel present in the room shall respect the
existing norm regarding radiation protection. With this purpose keep in mind the
following rule:

When needed use protection accessories in addition to all devices already

present on the apparatus.
Always use the proper x-ray protective wearing . Note that a material with
lead equivalent of 0.35, shall diminish by 99.95% a radiation of 50 kV, and
by 94.5% a radiation of 100 kV.
The best protection from radiation is distance: always keep the max
distance possible from the x-ray source. It may be useful to get the
maximum extension of the x-ray command switch.
Avoid movement and stand in the direct emission beam.
Always use the minimum exposition field, acting on the collimator shields.
Diffracted radiation depends largely on the volume of the target item.

Warning: never attempt any modification on the safety circuits or boards.

8.1 CS 10003 Discharge Capacitors Board

On this board it could be possible verify the charging voltage of the capacitors.
The voltage on the two side of the capacitors (positive and negative) must be
symmetrical with an allowed tolerance of 5Vdc. The capacitor fully charged
reach near 580Vdc (less than 600Vdc) taken on pole positive and negative.
To measure this voltage put the multi-meter in the following test point:

10 Maintenance and cleaning

All part of the generator must be inspected and checked at least once every 12
month of regular use, to ensure that the product is working properly and does not
represent a danger for operators and patient as effect of usage consumption.
Check correct condition of the touch panel and all the visual indication on the
machine and the boards, a special care must be used for the indication of x-ray
passage, that must be visible only during the effective passage of rays: in case of
negative result interrupt immediately the maintenance.
NOTE:
During all test performed in maintenance process, which eventually
involve emission of x-rays, always use proper leaded wearing, keep a proper
distance and wear the dosimeter.
Switch off the system and disconnect from power source before starting
maintenance and cleaning.
Clean plastic surfaces only with water and soap (not aggressive).
Never use aggressive product for cleaning and disinfection.
Take care that water and other liquid do not penetrate in the
chassis.
It is recommended to disinfect without spray agents.
Clean periodically the touch screen with just water and a soft tissue..
Check yearly the technical parameters to ensure correct working
modalities. For settings and calibration it is recommended to follow
carefully the indications in the manual.
