Subject:- Strengthening of Cement Mill No 4 Foundation
Dear Sir,
As per site visit, study of NDT report and recommendations and discussions held with your
good self, we propose the following system for strengthening of Cement Mill No 4
Foundation.

Technical Specification:
I- Surface preparation with mechanical tools to expose bare concrete and
achieve open pore structure and Impregnation with two liberal coats of
MONOPOL - High Molecular Weight Polymer (LV Grade) Grout
Monopol is a low viscosity high molecular weight thermoset polymer. Due to its low viscosity
cracks and honeycombs in concrete are filled upto full depth of concrete.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS :
For strengthening honeycombed concrete, cracks in RCC, rehabilitation of fire and explosion
damaged structures, sealer for concrete bridge decks, industrial floors, terraces, foundations,
etc. repairs of TG foundations, Crusher foundation, Polymer impregnated concrete applications,
for sealing cracks in concrete roads.
UNIQUE ADVANTAGES :
By virtue of low viscosity Monopol penetrates into the concrete even through fine hair cracks
and strengthens the matrix.
Seals cracks/honeycombs in concrete under very low pressure of 5 10 Psi.
Grouting can be done by gravity pouring/pressure grouting.
Excellent adhesion and chemical resistance.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
1. Surface preparation is an essential part of the application. It is necessary to clean and dry the
concrete surface prior to use.
2. Mix Monopol as specified and use it for injection/pouring within scheduled pot life.
3. Curing in air for 24 hours prior to use.

I I- TREATMENT OF CRACKS WITH LOW VISCOSITY HIGH STRENGTH

EPOXY GROUT
Area = 30Sqm
STEP 1: IDENTIFY THE CRACK LINES AND PREPARE
Using a sharp chisel/cutting wheel, wide chase along the entire length of
crack to a minimum size of 5mm x 10 mm. The chase must be square shaped
and deeper than it is wide.
STEP 2: Seal with Epoxy Putty
STEP 3: Fixing nipples/Ports at a distance of 300mm c/c along crack length.
Approximate Length of cracks=30M, No of Nipple/Ports =100 Nos
STEP4: Pressure Grouting Low Viscosity High strength Epoxy grout

EPCO KP/HP-250-SLV-Super Low Viscosity Epoxy Injection

Grouting System into the fixed ports with the help of Electric grout Pump
until refusal starting from one end and moving to complete all ports.
STEP 5: Removal of all ports and filling of holes with epoxy putty.

III-TREATMENT OF FOUNDATION WALLS SURFACE AREA WITH CARBON

WRAPPING
STEP 1: Surface preparation and mechanical sanding of the surface to
even out any variations.
STEP 2: Epoxy Putty
STEP3: Primer Coat for Carbon wrap system
STEP4: Laying one layer of Carbon Fibre Cloth
STEP 5: Application of Saturant Coat on the spread Carbon Fibre Cloth
STEP6: Laying second layer of Carbon Fibre Cloth
STEP 7: Application of another Saturant Coat on the spread Carbon Fibre
Cloth
STEP8: Fixing Mechanical Fasteners on the Carbon Fibre Cloth of HILTI
Make by Bullet Technology @ 300mm c/c both ways
STEP 9: Application of PU based protective coating on the carbon fibre
wrapping application
