1. We are becoming increasingly dependent on computers. They are used in businesses,

hospitals, crime detection and even to fly planes. Is this dependence on computers a good
thing or should we be more suspicious of their benefits? State your stand.
As we move into the twenty-first century, it is clear to see that we have become more and
more dependent on computers and information technology. As far as I am concerned, I believe
that computers are playing a highly important role in our modern life and we need not doubt their
advantages.
Firstly, the main reason for my opinion is that the computer can remarkably reduce the
amount of manual work. Many companies nowadays use computers not only to store business
data and millions of documentations but also to perform different kinds of operations that
previously required more time and people to complete. Take consumer research as an example, a
computer can be processed many survey results in an hour which would take months for a team
to get the same outcome. Next for people who love private business, they can find a golden
chance on the internet to build their business from home. They can just pay for build their
own business website and begin to show their products online. The claiming and paying are
both online by credit cards or visa cards.

Secondly computers are used in hospitals to keep, maintain and retrieve patient records,
to facilitate billing and to maintain an updated inventory of medical supplies. In addition,
computers are used to store information about employees, record the admittance of patients, as
well as to monitor their condition, administer some treatments and to track their release. This
facilitates the efficiency and quality of healthcare, while greatly reducing the time spent in
procuring medical services.
Computers itself can be installed with softwares and application that can do amount of
work especially in crime detection.There are special software in the investigation department.
This contributes a lot in identifying the criminals from just a tiny sample of DNA that enable us
to find out the culprits. Fingerprints in the national indentification software helps in verifying
someones identity that are commonly use in banks and government organisation.Besides that,
through the internet and IT nowadays police agenaes can play a role in communicatimg with the
international team regarding that involve international side. Opinions and strategies can also be
shared with oversea polices in order to detect and solving criminal cases.
Next by using the computer system like Flight Information Display system (FIDS) used
in airports to display flight information to passengers, in which a computer system controls
mechanical or electronic display boards or TV screens in order to display arrivals and departures
flight information in real-time. It used to assist passengers during air travel and people who want
to pick up passengers after the flight.

In conclusion I believe that computers definitely can improve our life. We are satisfied with
them and sometimes we even thank them because they help us in businesses, hospitals, crime
detection and even to fly planes

2. If your were asked to send one thing representing your country top internatioanal
exhibition , what would you choose? Why? Use specitic reasons and detail to explain your
choice.

The identity of a country is the most important thing for each country's people. Generally,
each country has a special symbol which introduces that country in the world. Certainly, my
country is not exception, eventhough it has a variety of things, those are worthwhile for me, but
if I want to chose one thing I will select an unexpected one. I would prefer to select Petronas
Twin Towers.
The main reason for this dicision is because as an internationally recognised landmark,
the PETRONAS Twin Towers symbolise the courage, ingenuity, initiative, and determination,
energy, confidence, optimism, advancement and zest of a nation. The PETRONAS Twin Towers
symbolises our culture and advancement on the world stage. This is shown by a blend of local art
and cutting-edge innovation. The interior motifs are a reflection of local handicrafts and weaving
patterns, while stainless steel and glass combine beautifully as Islamic patterns.
The design of each Tower's floor plate is based on simple Islamic geometric forms of two
interlocking squares, creating a shape of eight-pointed stars. Architecturally, these forms describe
important Islamic principles of "unity within unity, harmony, stability and rationality".The
towers are 'intelligent' structures, built with a system that seamlessly coordinates
telecommunications, environment control, power supply, lighting, fire and smoke control, and
building security.
Next the towers are depicted through its outline, which resembles the letter "M" for
Malaysia. The jagged outline subtly resembles one of Malaysia's famous traditional handicrafts
which is basket weaving. Thus highlighting her strong cultural values. The triangle that
symbolises the skybridge acts like a fulcrum that perfectly balances Malaysia's past and future,
local values and global outlook, multi-cultural background and united 1Malaysia concept. With
an upward-pointing arrow to depict growth and progress, the triangle also symbolises the Twin
Towers' ideal location at the heart of the Kuala Lumpur golden triangle. It is finished in the
PETRONAS Green to further emphasise that the PETRONAS Twin Towers is built by our
national oil company, PETRONAS.The logo is encapsulated in a square, like a close electric
circuit, to depict connectedness.
The Petronas Twin Towers rightfully represents Malaysias cultural and progressive
qualities that have put Malaysia on the world map. When people across the globe see the
Petronas Twin Towers, they see our culture, they see our progressive development, they see
Malaysia as it truly is. And that is what makes the Petronas Twin Towers a truly Malaysian brand
that all Malaysians are proud of.

3. In your country, is there more need for land to be left in its natural condition or is there
more need for land to be developed for housing and industry? Use specific reasons and
examples to support your answer.
Land is one of the natural precious sources of every country in the world. Because it
directly effects on the living condition. Those countries governments starts to building a new

factory and this way abolishes the natural lands need to consider careful before deciding where
its land to be left for natural condition or to be developed for housing and industrial. It seems to
me that, saving natural lands should be got a high priority among people. In my opinion, taking
care of natural lands we will have better climate in our country, also in this way we can save
different species, In addition we will be able prevent extra pollution in our land.
The main reason for saving land is having better weather condition there are many
serious phenomenon happened to our green planets environment. They are global warming,
desertification and polluted places, all those problems are caused by the rapid developing
housing and industrial. Doubtless, green space will moderate the climate and make better that.
Building a new house or factory will destroy the nature and consequently the temperature will
raise.
Second reason is saving different species. Every creative in the world has right to survive,
not because of land for human necessity, people let other category of animals to near extinction.
Our country is a large country and there are a variety of plants and animals which are living here.
The best way to protect others is left land in natural condition. It is including lands for raising the
parks, the zoos in the city and cultivation in countryside where wildlife can survive. Certainly,
destroying wilder land will menace their lives, and maybe several of them will become extinct.
Last but not least is preventing from extra pollution. Definitely, having factory and street
instead of natural lands, will lead us to having more car and after that more pollution. Polluted
air will cause to different illnesses. To illustrating this we just need to pay attention to rate of
different disease such as cancer or heart attack in industrial cities, and its comparison with small
towns. Thus, the land for housing and industrial should be considered after thinking carefully its
affect to human healthiness
In short, developing housing and industrial also bring us some advantages in near future.
However, we foresee further ten year, land for natural condition will let people healthier, wildlife
broader and environment better. Those reasons bring convenience not only for us but also for
next generation in future.
