General information
Special Seat wrenchs are required to install or remove the seats of the control valves listed
in the following tables.
These special tools have to be combined with adjustable click-type torque wrenches or with directreading torque wrenches to ensure that the right tightening torques are applied.
Valves with larger nominal sizes require high tightening torques which can only be reached by using
torque multipliers or hydraulic power tools.
Note
Torque wrenches, torque multipliers and hydraulic power tools fitting SAMSON Seat wrenchs can be
ordered from SAMSON AG.
The other special tools listed in the following tables are necessary for installing or removing a metal
bellows, for clamping the plug stem and for removing springs. The valve versions and the first four
digits of their former model numbers (which correspond to the valve type numbers in some cases) are
indicated in the following tables.

Actuators with Diaphragm Area
of 2100 cm ; 2800 cm and 5600 cm
The tool for the assembly and disassembly (SAMSON
order number 1280-4008) of Pneumatic Actuators with a
diaphragm area of 2100 cm and 2800 cm makes it easier
to replace diaphragms and to convert the fail-safe action.
(The nut on the diaphragm stem has to be tightened with
650 Nm.)
The tool is composed of nine detachable components for
the ease of transport.
The assembly of the tool is self-explanatory
The torque multiplier IP30 (SAMSON order number 99323808) and the torque wrench for 20 to 120 Nm (SAMSON
order number 9932-3812) should be available as these are
not part of the delivery scope.
As the nut of the diaphragm stem is tightenend with 650
Nm, the spring plate should be secured manually against
turning.
The lubricant to be used is:
