A Guide to Data Analysis
John Martyn Chamberlain
Loughborough University
An Introduction
Jack Fitzgerald and Jerry Fitzgerald
An engaging introduction to the study of
basic statistics for students pursuing careers
as practitioners or researchers, this studentfriendly text shows how to calculate a variety of descriptive and
inferential statistics, recognize which statistics are appropriate for
particular data analysis situations, and perform hypothesis tests
using inferential statistics.
Much more than a 'cook book', it encourages readers to think
critically about the strengths and limitations of the statistics they are
calculating, as well as how they may be misapplied and misleading.
Examples of statistics and statistical analyses are drawn from the
worlds of the practitioner as well as the policymaker and researcher.
Students will also gain a clear understanding of major ethical issues in
conducting statistical analyses and reporting results, as well as insight
into the realities of the life of researchers and practitioners as they
use statistics and statistical analyses in their day-to-day activities.

GLOBALIZATION
AND CRIME
Three-Volume Set
Edited by Katja Franko Aas
University of Oslo, Norway
This new major work shines a spotlight
on key criminological themes in the study
of transnationalism and globalization,
and, through a selection of the established
literature on the subject along with more
contemporary writing, explores how globalization is
defined, researched and debated within criminology. In order to do
this, the set is broken down into three volumes:
Volume One: Concept and Its History
Volume Two: Transnational Crime and Crime Policy
Volume Three: Methodologies and New Directions
The three-volume structure enables comprehensive coverage of
the historic development of the concept, its key definitional and
methodological issues, ample case studies as well as theoretical
and normative academic debates. Each volume is framed by its own
newly written introduction which places the selection of articles in
context, making this set a truly valuable resource for scholars in
the field.

CYBERCRIME
Four-Volume Set
Edited by David Wall
Much has been written on the subject of cybercrime over the past
two decades. This new major work brings together a selection of
articles that cover the history, context and future of cybercrime,
examining the relevant criminal behaviour, law and policing attached
to its many forms. The set is divided into four volumes, ensuring a
comprehensive spread of topics:
Volume One: History and Context; cybercriminals, victims, offenders
and their motivations, law and policing, and cyber-security
Volume Two: Cybercrime against the machine; hacking, DDOS
attacks and malicious software
Volume Three: Cybercrime using the machine; economic and
deceptive crime such as fraud
Volume Four: Cybercrime in the machine; pornography, political
hate speech and moral hate crime
Each volume opens with newly-written introductions that
contextualize the articles and make clear the structure and rationale
of the set. The result is a thorough and insightful collection of the key
literature on cybercrime, making this a perennially valuable resource
for scholars in the field.
