Crime stats for December 2014

The last month of the year and everyone was busy getting ready for the break. It
has been a busy year for all of us and we have all seen many changes.
Unfortunately one of area coordinators has had to stand-down for a while so he
can concentrate on personal matters, so I would like to publicly thank Jon Early
for his many years of assistance.
This month saw a disturbing amount of Burglaries in Pukerua Bay, the locals have
rallied around and plans are afoot to start or re-engage Neighbourhood Support
Groups, Well done.
Looking at the Stats for the month Tawa also got hit with burglaries, this is not
unexpected because during school holidays there is always a spike in burglaries.
Finally I would like to thank everyone for the support this year and look forward
to the challenges that the New Year brings

Recognising child abuse

Worried about a child or family, but don't know what to do?
The booklet "How can I tell?" provides information on how to recognise situations where
children may be living with violence or abuse.
If you are worried that a child is being hurt or not being well looked after, you can help.
"How Can I Tell?" provides information about what to look for and how to help reduce the risk of
harm to children.
The booklet is published by Child Matters and has the backing of the Principal Youth Court
Judge, Andrew Becroft.
The booklet was printed, thanks to the generosity of Hamilton companies New Zealand Home
Loans and Verdict Communications.
