VIII. WRITING-INTENSIVE COURSE REQUIREMENT

All students must complete, with a grade of C or better, at least one upper-division course designated as "writing
intensive." Courses that are writing intensive have a memo note in the Schedule of Classes stating, "This course is writing
intensive." While the intent is that the requirement be fulfilled within the major department, students may use a writingintensive course in another discipline to fulfill the requirement if permitted by the department/school of their major.
