Business world today has become global, which makes communication
even more complex.

WHAT IS COMMUNICATION
Latin word: Communicare, to impart, to participate
During the course of participation, we receive as well as give.
Process of participation has two forms: talking and writing
Genius is the ability to put into effect what is on your mind. (F. Scott

Definitions: process of sharing/exchanging ideas, information, feelings

and messages with others and get a desired response

But youre pretty good at communicating. Why should you study

communication?
But I didnt mean that?
Communicate every day does not make us good communicators.

Common sense is not enough.


Skilled communicators have knowledge of semantics (the study of word
choice), linguistics (the study of language), rhetoric (the study of writing
and speaking effectively), psychology, sociology, graphic design, and

even computer science.


Why then study business
