Introduction:

Haji Brothers is a light engineering firm, famous for its plastic air cooler bodies.
They produce bodies of air cooler in different size and quality. This is a family owned
business started by Haji Ibrahim in 1992 and after his death their sons are running
this business.
History:
Haji Brothers is commonly known as Sabir Plastic industry. Under the guidance of
Haji Sabir this firm is producing good quality plastic air cooler bodies from last 22
years.

Haji Brothers plastic company purchases all of its raw material from
Gujranwala. They purchased raw material from Mr. Muzafir and Malik
Abdul satar. Advance order is made for raw material and the suppliers
deliver the raw material within a week after receiving order.

I. Machinery:
They have 4 plastic molding machines which produce different parts of air
cooler in different size. They also have 2 plastic crushing mashines.
II. Assembling:
Average of producing one single product took 15-20 minutes, from producing
to fittings and packing.
III. Testing Products:
There is a separate engineer for testing the machines and their production.
Mostly defects occur in the panel of molding machine and the physical shape
of the product. Average of 5-6 products got defected in 100 assembled
products. And these defected products again got into process after crushing
it.

3. Distribution and Outbound Logistics:

Distribution of finished Goods:

There is a wide range of companys due to its quality. They have local
suppliers in many cities of Pakistan like; Peshawar, Islamabad, Rawalpindi,
Faisalabad.

As there is no specific company marketing technique. But sales are at good level,
reason is the quality of their products and they are maintaining their quality.

If any of the companys products got any kind of defect or damage in the
given period of time, then the company will replace that defected product
with the new one of the same model and size at 40% of total cost.
Firm Infrastructure:
The nature of the firm is friendly and decentralizes. All the labour force has the
direct approach to the management.

As the family owned business all the brothers takes good and productive
decisions in short time.

Accounting:

The firms debit and credit is still based on khata system. Thus the
accountability of firm is not computerized. But during interview with Haji
Sabir he mentioned to computerize there system as early as possible.

Finance:

Haji Ibrahim started this business of production with one single machine of
100 tons, and some little capital with a couple of employees. Today they have
4 machines and total worth of this firm is roughly 6 Million.

Strategic Planning:

The companys strategic plan is to provide its customers with good plastic air
cooler bodies. That is environment/nature friendly and saving trees. Their
plan says that the Quality is an apex point of our production. Creativity is life
line for our company.

Human Resource Management:


Currently 20-30 labour men are working in this company for day and night shift. And
according to the words of Haji Sabir all the labour force is satisfied with the
management and decisions of the company.

Recruiting:

During recruiting a worker/labour a panel of Irfan and Rizwan (brothers of Haji


Sabir) took interview and overlook the skills of that labour. Irfan and Rizwan
are basically involved in production processes.
Recruiting is based on preference to experience labour worker and to
someone recruited on reference.

Training:

If the company had hired an inexperienced worker, then that worker should
have to work under an experienced worker for almost 1 year to stand at the
production machine. Personally, the firms senior operational officer, Mr. Irfan
overlooks the working and performance of the new labour.
Technology development:
All the plastic molding machines are made in Japan, and Haji Sabir is always
connected to the market for new technological search. They also have its own
plastic colouring machine, because if the required colour of the plastic is
unavailable. They just put plastic in it and colour it as they want.

i. Research and Development:


In the firm there is not a specific department of research. But, Haji Sabir and
their brothers are always connected to market to update with the present
market conditions.
ii. Product and Process Improvement:
Company is improving its plastic molded air cooler bodies according to
present market requirements. Making fast their production process company
just purchased a second hand used 150 tons machine for production. That
produces one product in a minute, which is an effective production speed.
Procurement:

Purchasing of Raw Materials:

Haji Brothers plastic company purchases all of its raw material from
Gujranwala. They purchased raw material from Mr. Muzafir and Malik Abdul
satar.

In the22 years of production, company had bought 4 second hand molded


machines of category 100, 150, 200 and 450 tons.

There is a wide range of companys due to its quality. They have local
suppliers in many cities of Pakistan like; Peshawar, Islamabad, Rawalpindi,
Faisalabad.
