1. Measure the distance between power and signal entrances for the mounting shoes. (Typically 32" from center to center, adjustable 4 1/2") 2. Mark cabinet to align mounting shoes, then drill power and signal entrance holes into the shroud only. Daktronics recommends using a hole saw to avoid drilling into the cabinet to prevent water intrusion. 3. Open both doors, then remove side shrouds by removing screws with a #2 Phillips screwdriver. 4. Remove right and left full modules from the module mounting sheets to access internal components. Remove more modules as needed to access components as needed. Do not let the module hang. Disconnect cabling to remove modules. 5. Run power and signal cables. a. Run the cables through the mounting shoe to each appropriate side of the cabinet as labeled; otherwise, running power cables alongside signal cables may cause signal noise. Use Heyco bushing for cable protection. b. Push cables through the rubber membrane of the wire entrance plugs. Continue to push the wire through until enough of the wire is inside of the cabinet to terminate. Do not push/pull cables back out through the plug as doing so may allow water intrusion. Do not use a knife to poke a hole in the wire entrance plug before inserting the wire. Wire entrance plugs only accept 8-14 AWG wire. 6. Terminate signal cable. Ethernet: terminate CAT-5 cable and connect signal cable to the Ethernet surge card at J1, Input. Fiber: terminate LC connector and connect signal cable to the fiber media converter. 7. Connect hot (L1) and neutral (N) wires to the termination block and connect the ground wire to the ground bar. 8. Slide mounting shoe retainer bracket into rails on top of the cabinet. 9. Connect mounting shoe to mounting shoe retainer bracket using 1/4" hardware (provided in mounting kit). Note the mounting shoe orientation. Torque Specs for 1/4"-20 Stainless Steel bolts for the mounting shoe attachment are 78.8 in. lbs. 10. Reinstall modules. 11. Reinstall shroud and close doors using #12 Phillips screwdriver.
