What is the LIMOWA Logistics Centre Cluster?

A Finnish nationwide network of international reach for logistics


development and co-operation.
LIMOWAs operations are company-oriented, promoting business
activities and exports.
LIMOWA is national, open and impartial. LIMOWA is part of
Finlands governmental Centre of Expertise Programme
Primary targets for development are the modern logistics centres
and models for their design, construction, development and
operation.
The cluster aims to promote the availability of development
resources and financing, to stimulate development of logistics
infrastructure, and to influence public policy decisions.

Benefits of RFID in LogiCity
Study was done in ESLogC Development of Logistics Centers in Southern Finland project . The
venture was mainly funded by ERDF (European Regional Development Fund)

Location: in the knot-points of the traffic (& demand). Offshore.
Infrastructure: multimodality
LSPs, retail distributors, online store, manufactures & other logistics
centers
Services
Freight village maintenance (public areas, roads, traffic signs,
real estate)
ICT, identification & internet (area level)
Maintenance services (Fleet: truck, rail wagon etc.)
Security, alarm systems
Filling station, parking areas .
All in all, Freight village is a gathering point of traffic and material flow
and know-how/techniques related into those.
