CAESAR II Version 2014 SP1 (7.00.01) - Build 141003 - Service Pack 1
The following modifications and corrections are included in this update.
For more details on these modifications, refer to the CII2014SP1_README.mht file
, located in the Program installation directory.

Configuration:
- Corrected the default value for the SIFs and Stresses>SIF Multiplier for the S
ustained Stress Index configuration setting during initial installation. There i
s now a warning for users who may have already used the setting with its default
s, alerting them that using a SIF multiplier value of 1.0 can cause results that
differ from the recommendations by B31.3. (TR-TX-10372, CR-TX-10598)
Piping Input, Calculations, and Materials:
- Revised the functionality of the Allowable Stresses auxiliary panel when you s
elect B31.3 as the code, with regard to software defaults for the Allowed Maximu
m for cyclic reduction factor (f) of 1.2 radio button. (CR-TX-9812)
- Corrected the coefficient of thermal expansion for some duplex and super-duple
x steels (A789/A790) in the Material Database based on ASME B31.1 (Table B-1 The
rmal Expansion Data, Group 2
Low Alloy steels) and TEMA 8th Edition (Table D-1)
standards. (TR-TX-10506)
- Fixed issues with data consistency in the Material Database Editor when there
are anomalies with data entry (such as incorrect data ordering or blank fields).
(TX-TR-10557)
- Enhanced the Optimization (Loop) Wizard to improve the stability and robustnes
s of the wizard by handling a wider range of target values. The wizard now autom
atically chooses the most economical solution based on your target input, which
often reduces the number of iterations required for a solution. (TR-TX-5082, TRTX-10255)
- Fixed an issue when you clicked Analyze multiple times and the software exited
you out of the piping input. Multiple clicks on Analyze now act as a single cli
ck without issue. (TR-TX-10047)
Analysis:
- Updated several internal calculations for the ASCE 7 2005 wind code to comply
with the standard. Changes related to the wind direction factor, minimum wind fo
rce, and the topographic factor (Kzt). (TR-TX-9868, DM-TX-10497)
- Resolved an issue with B31.8 minimum wall calculations in the Error Checker wh
en you did not specify a design factor (Fac) in the Allowable Stresses auxiliary
panel for piping input. The software now uses a default value of 0.40 if you do
not specify a Fac value, which follows code standards. (TR-TX-9144)

- Resolved some issues with B31.8 SIF calculations for extruded outlets, reinfor
ced fabricated tees, and for the Butt Weld SIF/Tee type. (TX-TR-10541)
- Fixed an issue with stress calculations for intersections in ASME NC/ND and RC
C-M C/D jobs. The software now uses the effective section modulus for intersecti
on stress calculations for ASME NC/ND and RCC-M C/D jobs. (TR-TX-10081)
- Changed the longitudinal and hoop stress calculations for PD 8010-1. The softw
are now applies either a thin- or thick-walled equation for the calculations bas
ed on the D/t ratio, as specified by the piping code. (TR-TX-10343)
- Fixed an issue with local restraints that caused the software to display an In
sufficient Memory prompt and to not complete the static analysis when you were u
sing a very large number of local restraints (thousands) in your model. (DM-TX-1
0434, DI-TX-4044)
- Resolved an issue with wave loading with regard to hydrodynamic coefficients (
Cd, Cm, and Cl). The software now correctly calculates hydrodynamic coefficients
in wave loads at 90- and 270-degree angles. (TR-TX-10280)
- Resolved an issue in the Dynamic Analysis module where the software could not
complete calculations for Fatigue (FAT) stress types and Fatigue Cycles in Spect
rum Load Cases. (TR-TX-10891)
Long File Paths/File Names:
- Completed background research to identify all areas of the software where ther
e were issues with long file names and long file paths. (TR-TX-9857) Research id
entified the following areas with issues:
- Fixed an issue with file paths in the Classic Piping Input when you included a
piping or a structural file that had a long file path into an existing job and
saved the job. (TR-TX-10117)
- Resolved an issue with file paths in the Classic Piping Input for structural j
obs when there was an include file attached for pipes or structures and a proble
m with long paths on include files (piping or structural). (TR-TX-587, TR-TX-101
18, TR-TX-9810)
- Fixed an issue with file paths and file names in the C2Isogen module (Output >
Generate Stress Isometrics). (TR-TX-2764)
- Resolved an issue with file paths in the Buried Pipe Modeler. (TR-TX-9276)
Integration:
Data Export (ODBC Database):
- Improved how CAESAR II lists details for constant effort support in exported h
anger ODBC Database reports. (DM-TX-10440, TR-TX-10082)
- Corrected the figure number (hanger type) in the hanger reporting in the Data
Export Wizard (ODBC Database) and Static Output Processor for LISEGA spring cans
. (DM-TX-10383, CR-TX-9834)
CAESAR II Neutral File:
- Fixed an issue with memory management for a few of the CAESAR II example jobs

when using the CAESAR II Neutral File interface. The example jobs now convert su
ccessfully to a neutral file without any issues. (DM-TX-10173)
CADWorx Interface:
- Fixed an issue with materials when using the CADWorx C2OUT function to CAESAR
II. The software now retains the CADWorx material assignments when you run the C
2OUT function in CADWorx and then review them in CAESAR II. (TR-TX-10102)
Miscellaneous:
- Enhanced the software to make internal CAESAR II version information available
to third-party software through an internal translation DLL, which makes the ve
rsion information available for input files (._A and .c2 files). (DI-TX-10130)
- Added a new internal file extension type, MiM, which the software uses in the
job archive for interaction with PRG products. (CR-TX-10554)
Output Reports:
- Resolved an issue with the Stoomwezen Approval Certificate where the complete
job pathname and approval date did not display when you generate the certificate
on an external application. (TR-TX-10407)
- Resolved several issues with the Stress Summary report. (TR-TX-8694)
Stress Isometrics:
- Renamed the output PCFs the software creates when generating isometric drawing
s to distinguish them from input PCFs. Now, the software appends SISO to the file
name and to all subsequent isometric files generated from CAESAR II. (CR-TX-3332
)
- Fixed a symbols display issue on generated ISOGEN drawings when in Isometric v
iew. CAESAR II now displays unique symbols to distinguish between spring hangers
and spring cans on the ISOGEN drawing. (DM-TX-10475, TR-TX-2787)
WRC 107 (537)/297/PD5500 Module:
- Fixed an issue in WRC 297/PD5500 analysis with square or rectangular attachmen
t types, which caused errors with the WRC 297 output report. (TR-TX-8988)
Online Help:
- Fixed the F1 Help for the Review Intersection SIFs and Review Bend SIFs dialog
boxes in the piping input. The software now displays the applicable CHM-based H
elp topic for bends and intersection SIFs based upon the dialog box from which y
ou press F1. (DI-TX-9140)
Software Updates and Installation:
- Updated the Help > Check for Updates feature to distinguish between the Commer
cial and Nuclear versions of the software and update messages to include Smart S
upport information. (TR-TX-10284)

- Significantly reduced the size of CAESAR II service pack installs. (CR-TX-1042
