Apte
Topic: Personality Development
Apte Sir first asked the students what all problems they are currently facing with regards to
personality development. He started off with State of Mind. He said our mind has three states
which are alpha, beta and gama. Alpha is a state in which you can concentrate the most. It is a
state when the person is half awake half asleep. It is a state where your subconscious mind is
awakened. Beta and Gama are stages of sleep that is in Beta you go to sleep and Gama is a state
when you start dreaming. Scientist have actually made a person stay at alpha stage and solved
their problems but the person goes mad if he is not allowed to dream. There are many techniques
of getting into these stages like hypnotism, meditation, etc.
Then he spoke about his last talk where he told us to believe in ourselves which is the best way
to achieve success. Along with that you also need to give a thought on what you want to do in
life and you have to dream big.
Some of the main topics in personality development included effective presentation strategy, fear
facing, leadership, managing management time, one minute apology, personal branding and time
management.
Then he told us a story which gave us a lesson that motivation does not work every time. It is the
hard work and skills that pays off. There has to be unity of command i.e. there has to be one
manager.
Next topic he discussed about was Wisdom of Sages (Secrets of HUNA and NLP).
He said there is no such thing as failure. If a person feels he has failed, only then does he fail or
else it is just a feedback. Failure is ones own perception.
He then told us why there is a need for us to practice HUNA and NLP (Neuro Linguistic
Programming). Reasons being many people are suffering from suicides, addictions, emotional
disorders, anxiety, depression. Such problems are on a rise especially in major cities.
All these problems are actually only in our mind. It is our own perception and our own
experience. It is internal and not external. It is all created in out subconscious mind. Eg. Any bad
incident that occurred in our childhood.
Then he spoke about Mantra, Tantra and Yantra. Mantras are basically the shlokas that we chant.
Tantras are the pooja that we do at our homes and Yantra refers to things like bells in the temple.
All these are ancient practices that help us reach the subconscious mind and find peace in
ourselves.
The world is what you think it is. There are no limits. Energy flows where attention goes. Now is
the moment of power (tomorrow never comes). To love is to be happy with. All power comes
from within. Effectiveness is the measure of truth.

One of the exercise he gave us is Smile at whatever you face. Whenever you go to your home,
learn to appreciate and smile at everything you see, hear, taste, feel and smell. And then also
practice the same when you go to work.
Some of the hundred techniques to find your own HUNA are garden, authority (consider yourself
as the boss), power walk, dream talk, mountain, meadows, etc.
He ended the talk by teaching us Power walk exercise which was very interesting and
impressing. By this method a person can achieve whatever he wants in life.
