The rapid development of cloud computing and mobile Internet have resulted in unprecedented IT growth and increased
energy consumption, creating many challenges for the traditional data center. To comply with future cloud computing
and virtualization requirements, improve data center efficiency, and control investment costs, Huawei has launched the
IDS2000 modular data center solution. The IDS2000 is a next-generation modular data center solution that offers complete
integration of rack cabinets, power supply, distribution, cooling, cabling systems, management software, and much more.

The Huawei IDS2000 series modular data center solution comprises of three solutions: IDS2000-L Series (Large), IDS2000-M Series
(Medium), and IDS2000-S Series (Small). The series covers all indoor data center scenarios and meet diverse customer requirements.

Customer Value:
Fast deployment
Factory prefabricated components can be assembled quickly on-site, shortening the construction period by at least 50%.
Less site restrictions, using row-level air conditioner that provide cool air horizontally, without a raised floor.

Energy savings
Cold aisle/hot aisle containment technology avoids the mixture of cold and hot air, significantly reducing energy consumption.
For high-density scenarios, the row-level air conditioners are located near heat sources, which observably improves cooling efficiency.
Compared with the traditional data center, energy consumption is reduced by 30% to 50% and PUE is as low as 1.2, with free cooling.

Flexible expansion
Modular components and a unified, standard interface enable flexible expansion based on rack or module units, avoiding excessive
investment.
With on-demand deployment, the power density can be smoothly upgraded from 1 W to 21 kW.

Intelligent management
NetEco management system can monitor the entire data center facility uniformly, including electricity, environment, video, access
control, etc.
The comprehensive intelligent management platform provides such functions as alarm, report, work order, and energy efficiency
management.
Opening standard northern interface can be integrated rapidly with a mainstream NMS or layer-2 management systems..

Modular Data Center Solution

Signal Cable

Two types of cable troughs: signal cable troughs and power

cable troughs. Cables insulation reduces system interference
and increase reliability.

Power Cable

Cable holes are located in the center of the top cover of

each cabinet to simplify cable-routing into the cabinet.
The expansion of length direction is flexible.

Cabling

Skylight

The flat roof ceiling consists of side panels, top frames, and
revolving ceiling panels.
The temperature detector and smoke alarm are installed
in the contained aisle linked with skylight controller. After
the action of electromagnetic switch, the rotate skylight
is automatically opened by gravity, ensuring the fire
extinguishing gases into the aisle.

End Door

The end door of a contained aisle can be a sliding door or a

double door.
The door panel is made of tempered glass, which ensures
channel visibility and meets fire fighting requirements.
Sealed brushes are installed at the bottom of the door
panel, effectively sealing the date center module.

Power Distribution - PDF

Power Supply - UPS

PDF includes precise PDF and air conditioner PDF.

The UPS provides an uninterruptible power supply for the

modular data center. Backup default is 15 minutes.

380/220 V 50Hz, 480/277 V 60Hz are all supported.

Modular design applies in PDF, the reasonable electricity
margin is reserved for upgrading to 30kW/R as the max
power density.

380/220 V 50Hz, 480/277 V 60Hz are all supported.

The power supply system offers N+X backup availability,
which complies with Tier III standards. For higher reliability,
the system can be customized for Tier IV.

NetEco
System

NetEco system manages the real-time data and status of

data center facilities, including power, environment, video,
and door.
Automated emergency handling improves management
efficiency and reduces O&M costs.
Dynamic PUE management optimizes important power
and cooling services and enables smart interaction with the
cloud platform.

The modular data center design means that air

conditioners and racks form cold (hot) aisles for isolation
between cold air and hot air.

Cooling

Row-level A/C are close to heat sources, which reduces air

pressure losses and minimizes cold air leakage to maximize
cooling efficiency.
Room-level A/C with bottom air supply are also supported.
The cooling supply system features N+X backup availability,
which complies with Tier III standards. For higher reliability,
the system can be customized to meet Tier IV standards.

One modular data center consists of a maximum 42 server

racks.

Rack

Rack dimensions are uniform and comply with 19inch standards. Air ventilation is front-to-rear, and door
perforation rate is 67%.
Bearing load is superior, featuring a static load of 1,200 kg.
All racks are pre-installed at the factory, accelerating on-site
implementation.

IDS2000-L series modular data centerHigh density solution

The IDS2000-L series modular data center high density solution adopts cold aisle/hot aisle containment, efficient modular UPS, and rowlevel precision air conditioning, with no need for a raised floor. The power density can be up to 21 kW. The solution can be applied to
new large scale, high density data centers or reformation and expansion of traditional data centers.

The IDS2000-L series low density modular data center solution adopts cold aisle/hot aisle containment, flexible single or dual row
deployment, and room-level precision air conditioning. The power density can be smoothly upgraded from 1 kW to 5 kW per rack. It can be
adapted to new carrier and large enterprise data centers or used to redesign and expand traditional data centers..

IDS2000-S Series Small

Modular Data Center Solution

The IDS2000-S solution offers a highly integrated design, including racks, monitor, power supply, battery, and network connection,
providing a complete small data center facility. Build to production time is only three weeks. The small data center adopts modular
architecture, and the standard configuration is one rack. A battery rack and network cabling rack are available for extended functionality.

The front door is a single-swing door, and the rear

door is a double-swing door. The main IT cabinet
integrates power distribution, monitoring, cooling
and cabling, KVM, etc.

The cabinet cools via natural air-flow. The

maximum cooling capacity of a single cabinet
is 3 kW. The cabinet top is designed with heat
dissipation holes or installed with fans. The
perforation rate of the front and rear doors is
70%.

The monitoring system collects and analyses

cabinet environmental data, manages the cabinet
environment, and reports alarms. It also monitors
the small environment in the cabinet, UPS power
distribution system, and fan control system.

The UPS provides stable power for the small

data centers by storage batteries when the
mains fails.

When the mains and diesel generator (D.G.)

fail, storage batteries supply DC power for the
UPS. The UPS then inverts the DC power into
AC power for loads.

For IDS2000-S solution, the maximum IT power

is 3 kW.
