BonaResponds

Who we are: BonaResponds (BonaResponds.org) is a volunteer


organization whose mission is simply to help. BonaResponds is open to all
and is affiliated with St. Bonaventure University (SBU.edu).
What we do: BonaResponds helps to make things better.
Our work can be divided into three main areas:
1. National Disaster Relief
2. Local Work
3. International
BonaResponds History
BonaResponds was established after Hurricane Katrina (2005)
BonaResponds has made over 50 trips to 17 states after disasters.
BonaResponds has had over a thousand local work days
Work includes chainsawing, house muck outs, snow shoveling, wheelchair
ramps, trail creation and maintenance, home winterization, light
construction and repairs, work at schools, churches, painting, park and river
clean ups, helping at risk students, tutoring, collections and more.
BonaResponds is active in Haiti. We work with Haitian groups as well as
our own leaders. We have 5 garden programs, have planted hundreds of
trees, provided supplies and resources to 4 orphanages and over 10 schools,
established HaitiScholarships.org, and shipped approximately 125 pallets of
supplies since the 2010 earthquake.
BR is currently working with groups in Liberia in the aftermath of the Ebola
Crisis. Past international work has included the Philippines and Pakistan.

How to Help
BonaResponds is open to all. We work approximately 50 weekends a year, so
come on out and lend a hand! We are ALWAYS looking for volunteers (and
leaders)!! (All ages can help but please check before attending) or you can help
by collect school supplies, sporting (especially soccer) equipment.
Without both volunteers and donors, BonaResponds is just a good idea.
Donations can be made online at BonaResponds.org. Or better yet, sponsor a
project and see directly how your money helps!
Local (Ramp $1000), WarmSnugglyBlanketDay ($2000), pay for a
month of tool and van maintenance ($300), Gas fill up for van ($75),
Lunch for volunteer work crew $20.
Haiti: Sponsor a solar electric system ($1500USD), Garden program
(land rent, seeds, and tools ($500), Composting Toilet system ($350),
Sponsor a student in school ($250+), pay to ship a barrel of supplies
($125), Pay for a Saturday Tutoring session ($25-$35).
Liberia: Build the CYC Orphanage ($5000), Rent for current orphanage
($1200 a year), Emergency feeding of 118 orphans ($1800 per month).
