Perimeter Sweep

As the fight for the foundary begins, the first and foremost concern is establishing a secure
perimeter from which they can establish supply lines and create a safe cordon for the
redeployment of troops into the foundary proper. Nowhere is safe from the fires of war however,
and generals wishing to claim ownership of the foundary will be forced to pry control of the
building from the cold dead hands of their enemies.

The Armies
Agree which player will be the Attacher, and which will be the Defender. Both players will then
select forces to an agreed points limit.
The Attacker may take one additional Heavy Support choice for each primary detachment in his
army.
The Defender must take between one and three Fortification choices for each primary detachment
in his army.

The Battlefield
Set up terrain as described in the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook. As this battle is taking place just
outside a Adeptus Mechanicus foundry, players are encouraged to use plenty of ruins / buildings or
other terrain items that create / promote an industrial feel.

Deployment
Players roll for Warlord Traits and any Psychic Powers etc that may be used during the game before
rolling for deployment.
Once terrain has been placed, divide the table into quarters, with the Defender choosing a quarter
as their deployment zone and the Attacker deploying in the table quarter diagonally opposite as
shown in the map below. When placing units, no units may be deployed closer than 12 from the
centre of the table (normal rules for Infiltrate notwithstanding). When deploying fortifications that
have been purchased as part of an army list, they must be placed wholly within their owning players
table half.

Game Length
The mission lasts for six turns.

Victory Conditions
Primary Objective
At the end of the game, each player scores 2 VP for each set of ruins / building and other key terrain
pieces (such as promethium tanks, fuel dumps etc) that they control and an additional 1 VP for each
building that has been flagged by the player. The player who amasses the most VPs will be
awarded 5 Campaign Points, with 2 CPs being awarded for a draw.

Secondary Objectives
Slay the Warlord*, First Blood, Linebreaker
*In this mission, each player scores 2 VPs for killing their opponents Warlord, rather than just 1

Mission Special Rules

Reserves: As described in the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook
Black Flag, Red Ball: In this mission, units that finish their movement phase inside a building / ruin or
other key terrain piece (as described above) tag the terrain piece and claim it for their faction. Once
a scoring unit has entered the building it is considered flagged for the owning player. Once flagged,
the terrain piece can be captured by a scoring unit owned by the opposing player in the same
manner, effectively removing the original flag and replacing it with their own. It is entirely possible
for a building to be flagged multiple times during a game as opposing units move through the terrain
at different times.
