El Imperativo
El Imperativo
Para hacer el modo imperativo del verbo debemos dejar el verbo en base, es decir, lo utilizamos en su forma baseto drink quitndole la
partcula to, slo usaremos drink.
Para formar el imperativo no utilizamos sujeto, observa:
Drink your milk
Tomate la leche
Finish your homework
Termina tus deberes
Turn the light on
Prend la luz
Para hacer la negacin del imperativo simplemente anteponemos la partcula don't:
Don't drink that
No te tomes eso
Don't close the door
No cierres la puerta
Don't throw that paper
No tires ese papel

Usos
Utilizamos esta forma verbal para realizar varias funciones:

1- Dar instruciones:
Go straight on till the corner
Segu derecho hasta la esquina
Turn the power on
Encienda el motor

Nota
Encontramos el imperativo en las recetas de cocina:
First, cut the onions and put them into hot oil
Primero, cort las cebollas y ponelas en aceite caliente
Put the potatoes in boiling water
Pon las papas en agua hirviendo

2- Darrdenes:
Go to your room
And a tu habitacin
Do your homework

Hac tus deberes

Nota
Una orden negativa se puede entender como una prohibicin:
Don't feed the animals
Prohibido alimentar a los animales

3- Hacer advertencias:
Beware!
Ten cuidado!
Be careful!
Ten cuidado!

4- Aconsejar:
Eat less fat
Come menos grasa
Study harder
Estudia ms

5- Pedir un favor:
Pass me the salt, please
Pasame la sal, por favor
Bring me a glass of water, please
Traeme un vaso de agua, por favor

6 Hacer ofrecimientos o invitaciones :

Have another sandwich
Tom otro sndwich
Take a seat
Tome asiento

7 - Expresar buenos deseos :

Have a good time!
Pasala bien!
Enjoy your meal!
Buen provecho!

8- Imprecaucin:

Go to hell!
Andate al infierno!
