Tim Wakeeld Celebrity Golf Classic Undergoes a Makeover!
The 21st Tim Wakefield Celebrity Golf Classic underwent a revamp this year! This year
featured several new and exciting changes. The Friday night auction and dinner was
redesigned to be a much more intimate dinner event featuring a plated dinner prepared by none
other than celebrity Iron Chef Lee Hillson and professional entertainment at the intermission!
This year we welcomed new electronic bidding for the
Silent Auction! Attendees could watch items, raise
their bids from the comfort of their seats and much
more!
Of course the highlight each year is the Live Auction
featuring unique experiences and items and hosted by
our auctioneer, Darin Jordan. Golf was held at
Harmony Golf Preserve and featured an award luncheon
honoring the top golf teams.
Sponsor reception, by invitation only, includes a buffet
from Meg OMalleys and other superb restaurants. This year attendees enjoyed a lively game of
Black Jack and music from Tim and friends.
Top sponsors include Brevard County Hyundai Dealers, Climatic Refrigeration and Pitching in for
Kids. Food sponsors include Meg OMalleys, Broken Barrel Tavern, Pizza Gallery & Grill, Long
Doggers and TooJays.
Special thanks to the Wakefield Steering Committee: Sheila Schaefer, Charlie Nash, Jim Torpey, Joann
Torpey, Trish Clow, Leona McGinty, and Bruce Nelson Jr.

It's amazing! He comes home every day and tells us a new thing he learned, like how
to carry scissors and to raise your hand to ask a ques on. I am 100% condent he will
be ready for kindergarten. - James Mom

Thanks to a generous grants from PNC Grow Up Great and the
Innovative Worthy Projects Foundation, SCEIC was able to introduce
state-of-the-art technology into the classrooms. We purchased iPads for
the classrooms to be used as augmentative communication deices for
nonverbal students and to enhance learning experiences for all of our
students.
iPad applications can be customized to target specific skill sets for each
individual student and are used in conjunction with traditional learning
materials. We are able to work with students on fine motor skills, lan-
guage development, counting, math and pre-reading skills and so much
more. We have introduced a model technology classroom into one of VPK classes and hope to expand this to
all VPK rooms in the near future!

We couldn't be happier
with the progress our
daughter, Zoey, has
made at SCEIC.
She started attending at
22 months old, speaking
a few phrases as most
children her age
do. Within weeks, her
vocabulary and social
skills skyrocketed!
We are very impressed
with the level of
guidance and care
given, and would
recommend SCEIC to
any parent of young
children!
