toperform yourmaneuverswhenyoubegin theflightportionofyour trainingprogram.
Thisisaninstrumentintensivecourse,soyourinstrumentproficiencylevelwillgreatlyaffectyourlevelof
successinthecourse.Werecommendarrivingadayearlyforaninstrumentrefresher/Garmin430ifyouare
notinstrumentproficient/current,orhaveneverusedaGarmin430orotherIFRcertifiedGPSfor
instrumentapproaches.Ifyouchoosenottousethisoption,pleasebesuretostudythemanualand
simulatorfortheGarmin430(foundonGarminswebsite),andfamiliarizeyourselfwiththeinstrument
approachesintotheBoiseandCaldwellairports.

Dependingondensityaltitude,Vmc mayoccuratanairspeedthatislowerthanstallspeed.Whenpitching
theaircraftupforthisdemonstration,pitchforaoneknotperseconddecreaseinairspeed.Asthespeed
decreases,additionalaileronwillbeneededtoamaximumof5degrees.Recoveryshouldbemadeatthe
firstindicationofstallhorn,stallbuffet,orlossofdirectionalcontrol.
NotethatthegearhornwillsoundwithareductioninMP onthefailedengine.Donotconfusethiswarning
withthestallwarning.
