Abstract

Alcoholic drinks
Alcoholism
Social damages

It should be admitted, regarding the alcohol consumption malaise, that unfortunately the trafficking in
alcohol as well as its distribution, production and consumption has become so prevalent among some people
and discoveries and reports on the number of arrested ones in connection with alcoholic drinks revealed by
respective authorities confirmed this fact. It is noticeable that it happened regardless of all enacted measures
and law enforcement against the purposefully, planned alcoholic drink trafficking into the Iran with political
goals e.g. cultural invasion. In spite of detection and annihilation of alcohol producing workshops and
administration of penal laws against such crimes, the number of consumer in the society is increasing.
Therefore offering solutions checking the growth of alcohol consumption and deciding on strategies to lower
the number of people who demand it centered on instruction and warding unaffected groups of society off
are recommended by providing clear information to people and make them aware about destructive
consequences of alcohol consumption and bodily and mental damages it will cause on consumers as well as
its influence on the family and society.

1.

Introduction

It should be remembered, respecting the alcoholic drinks malaise that the necessity of performing a review, preparing remedies, finding causes and
deciding on sensible policies within the realm of cultural values come into prominence through a curious inspection about this ominous phenomenon
and the damages it caused on the different social levels, especially among a considerable percentage of youngsters. The ever growing expansion of
social anomies and deviations particularly in the recent years like alcohol consumption requires deep though and contemplation. Everyone is obliged
to observe the moral and Islamic principles and standards in a society in which any activities of pubs, brothels and casinos and other depravities are
forbidden, but unfortunately it was understood that the alcohol consumption has gained popularity across the county especially among the teenagers
and youths and even in families that is a matter of concerns. The significant rise and great number of social deviations and the alcohol consumption
between the youths and teenagers in the school age and productive powers of the society are vicious events and need finding fundamental remedies
that shows the importance and necessity of more surveys in this field.

Study on the Environmental Effects on Inclination to Alcohol Consumption

Article I: Vicious friends

Friends are decisive social factors in inclination to alcohol assumption. The first experience of alcohol drinking is unlikely to happen when one is
alone and aloof from his/her friends. There are so-called seasoned friends at the first experience of alcohol consumption who give instruction on how
to have alcohol and explain its magic effects.
The 63% of alcohol consumption and drug abuse cases are encouraged by vicious friends according to the surveys conducted by researchers and
therefore gaining knowledge about its harms, getting to know friends of children, setting alternative healthy activities for them, consolidating
religious beliefs in them, supervising their affairs and having a permanent relationship with school board could provide suitable treatment to prevent
youth from slipping into drug abusing and addiction to narcotics and alcohol. It should be noted that most alcoholics and addicts stated that their
addition to narcotics and alcohol caused by their friends [3].
Article II: Lack of happiness
The citizens tendency towards alcohol consumption and other social anomies is caused by feeling of depression and lack of joy in their life. The
youth should be learned how to create happiness in their life without seeking it in the parties and abusing alcohol and drugs and immoral
relationships.
Article III: Alcoholism and street harassment
It seems that the average age of alcohol consumers have been decreased in Iran which is a worrying social damage due to its influence on rising of
crimes such as street harassment for women, public intimidation by shouting, stabbing and threatening people, robbery, street fight, gang conflict,

larceny, sabotage, villainy, murder and even battling against the police officers, family disputes and addiction as the consequence of alcohol
consumption (what do we know about thugs punishment? Young journalists club; December 19th, 2012).
Article lV: Alcoholism and crimes against public morals
Crimes which privately injure the reputation and honor of individual or individuals other than the social obscenity they have, are called crimes
against the private morals and actions which are only violate The Divine Right or hurt the public moral are called crimes against the public morals
[4].
It should be admitted that there exists a close relationship between crimes against the morals and alcohol, namely; participation in the mixed-parties
and relationships between a man and a women who are not husband and wife or dressing in the way that is against the common custom and morality,
or staggering on the public places, drunk and actions like yelling, knifing and street harassment, etc. especially for women. Because the Sharia (the
tradition of the prophets) which respects the dignity of individuals and protects them against humiliation, believes that in order to keep depravity
from spreading, the crimes of unlawful relations and actions against the morals except adultery, should be overlooked and further investigation about
it should be avoided unless such crimes committed publicly or there is a private petitioner to refrain from unintentionally hurting citizens prestige
and their social respect.
Article V: Suburbanization
There has been a sharp increase in the number of people immigrating from villages and small cities to the metropolitans over the recent two-three
decades. The suburbanization and slum dwelling have been developing rapidly and becoming a crucial problem as the result of this immigration,
housing shortages and incompatibility of the immigrants to the ruling values and standards of urban communities. It is obvious that it has affected
children and teenagers more than others. The immigrants forced youngsters to do false jobs and make them vulnerable to any sort of abuses as a
result and also push them to begging, thievery, pocket lifting, selling drugs and alcoholic drinks and sometimes to sexual perversion and prostitution.
Buying and selling of alcoholic drinks is more common in the fringes because dealers feel more secure in these areas. Most of the times unemployed
youths make money from buying and selling alcoholic drinks and drugs or by providing residence and facilities for such crimes. Handmade drinks
produced in slums and distributed in neighboring regions around it due to the presence of specific buyers and either lack of social and disciplinary
guards in the said areas or their reluctance to get involved in these matters [5].
Article Vl: Rural-urban Immigration
Most of the immigrants to the big cities are jobless and in crisis economically. So they need money to get by and this motivates them to commit
crimes. Suburbanization is caused by growing gap between different social classes, expanding urbanization, and immigration of people from villages
to cities have gave rise to the outburst of crimes, social perversions, and other effects caused by them. The inappropriate physical condition and
substandard life of people who live in fringes have a great impact on their behavior namely; inclination toward crimes and non-cultural deeds.
Article Vll: Housing and living place
Parents determine social companion of their family by choosing the geographical place of residence. The geographical location of family exposes
children to different behavioral patterns to such an extent that it could establish good or evil effect in these impressionable creatures. So if the family
resides in the criminal regions children are more likely to face various kinds of wrongdoings than if they are placed where such cases rarely occurred.
In other words there is a direct connection between exposure to crimes and its frequency [3].
Article Vlll: Availability of alcoholic drinks
Alcoholic drinks unfortunately are so easy to be bought in approximately everywhere in the country and only price and quality of them could make
any differences. The availability of alcoholic drinks and their consumption in the wedding ceremonies, birthday parties, night parties and as youths
have them in their leisure activities like mountain climbing and picnic verify the great amount of demand and supply of alcoholic drinks in the
society and it is surprising that enough caution is not exercised by authorities.
Article lX: Satanism
The relationship between satanic groups and their sects and alcohol consumption may be unseen at the first glance but one of the alcohol drinking
reasons is to be a member of this cult and to perform its rituals.
Satanism is worshiping Evil as an extraordinary creature that is more influential than any other Gods good mundane powers. In Satanism the Evil is
praised as symbol of power and dominance on the earth as well as in the hereafter. Alcohol consumption, dance, drug abusing either narcotics or
stimulant, spreading the depravity, libertinism, and other acts against the law are widespread in the most cults of Satanism practiced by their
followers attending special ceremonies e.g. night parties held by these satanic groups [2].
It is worthy of paying attention by parents and other citizens that such groups selecting their members through promotion and informing others about
their cult in the night parties and having intimate discussions and chatting with others and advertising on the internet.
The popularity of such groups among youths and teenagers belonged to the upper classes of society has turned into a serious problem threatening the
morality of families, society and its citizens. Sacrificing the children and drinking their blood, urophagia, coprophagia along with alcohol
consumption and having alcohol mixed with blood are among the characteristics of these depraved parties.
Article X: Alcoholism and suicide
Many years of research have been dedicated to analyze the social and psychological factors leading to suicide and to find the major stimuli causing
social damages such as addiction, alcoholism, poverty, the reason behind using great physical and mental violence, depression, personality disorders,
family disputes, etc., When individuals feel dissatisfaction and failure and find themselves without any support in passing the helplessness theory,
they are so likely to commit suicide as self-destruction and death will be turned out as the last solution for them. The phenomenon of suicide still has
its victims in despite of alarming signs and research boost gained in this field. It happens when one feels alone in the hardest times of life in addition

to lack of the experience of the secure attachment and due to personal inability to bear hardships and copes with failures moving toward suicide by
losing all essential stimuli, positive thinking and any hope for a better future.
In Islam the life and existence of mankind is kept as something sacred and people are emphatically prohibited from suicide. Holy God states in the
surah An-Nisa, verse 29 that: And do not kill yourselves (or one another). Indeed, Allah is to you ever Merciful. And Mohammad (peace be upon
him) said: Whoever commit suicide, so will be in the inferno.
The correlation and devastating effect of depression with overdoing alcohol and being likely to commit suicide is not invisible for any curious eyes.
The alcohol increases the danger of suicide by intensifying the feeling of depression and decreasing the sense of self-restraint. More than half of
persons who committed suicide were drunk as doing so and it is a common suicide method to overdoing drugs either narcotics or stimulants or
alcoholic drinks.

Conclusion

Actions of smugglers and producers of alcoholic drinks in distribution and creating new consumer markets have a negative impact on the security of
the country. These crimes unfortunately are of compound nature that is many more crimes are dependent to it, and derived from it which are the main
reasons and underlying roots of various crimes such as; mayhem, street harassment, rape, robbery, intimidation, murder, etc. all will cause the
atmosphere of the society to be insecure.
It should be noted that one of the most important reasons contributing to inefficiency and failure of the country in fighting against smugglers and
preventing alcoholic drinks form entering into and distribute in the county is lack of consideration paid to the major reasons of such crimes by
authorities, some of these reasons are as follows:
