CHAPTER(2)
Registration of Boiler Design

1. The boiler manufacture, approved for manufacturing, must be registered

the design of boiler .

2.

Before commencing construction of any boiler to be built ,the

manufacturers drawings and specifications shall have been submitted to,
and approved by, the chief inspector.

3.

Blue prints and specifications of designs in duplicate shall be submitted

to the department for registration for all boilers.

4.

Drawings and specifications of any boiler shall give the maximum design
pressure and temperature, the working pressure, the material thickness
and specifications, method of fabrication and welding details and the
purpose for which the boiler is to be used.

5.

Designs, when finally approved, will be given a registration number for

boilers may be manufactured to such registered design in detail.

6.

Changes made by a manufacturer in a design already approved and

registered will necessitate the submitting of new drawings and
specifications to the department for approval.

7.

When a design is submitted and not approved, a report on the design will
be sent by the department to the manufacturer .

8.

The approval and registration of design drawings and specifications of a

boiler will not in any relieve the manufacturer of full responsibility in
connection with same.

9.

With respect to an application for registration of the design of a boiler , the

drawings, calculations, specifications and other information respection the
design must include;
()
(a)

the design pressure and temperature

()

(b)

details of the arrangement and dimensions of all component part
