A. Correlation Coefficient
r = 0.1814
B. Coefficient of Determination
r2 = 0.0329 or 3.29%
C. y- intercept
a = 6.16
D. Slope
b = 0.0014
E. Simple Linear Regression Equation
No.of times you eat during school hours in a week (Food Consumption) = 6.16 + 0.0014
(Weekly Allowance)
F. Interpretations
a) Correlation Coefficient (r) : There is weak positive linear relationship between
weekly allowance and number of times you eat during school hours in a week
(Food Consumption).
b) Slope : For each 1 unit increase in weekly allowance, you expect an increase
0.0014 in
Consumption).
c) y intercept : When the weekly allowance is 0, then the expected value of
number of times you eat during school hours in a week (Food Consumption) is
6.16.
d) Coefficient of Determination (r2) : Almost 3.29% of the variability in the number
of times you eat during school hours in a week (Food Consumption) is explained
by the weekly allowance using the model.

The figure above illustrates that the data points are widely scattered around a straight line. It
looks as if one variable can be predicted from the other with some degree of accuracy. We
observed that as weekly allowance increases in value, the number of times you eat during school
hours in a week (Food Consumption) tends to increase slightly in value. Consequently, it has
been labeled as illustrating a weak, positive, linear relationship.
