VPN MODEM CONFIGURATION

Prerequisites -:
The following items are necessary for MODEM configuration-:

LAN Cable (Used to connect MODEM and SWITCH).

Computer.

Follow the below steps to configure the MODEM -:

1. As per the picture-:
a. Plug the Telephone Line in DSL Port of MODEM.
b. Plug the any one side of LAN Cable in Ethernet Port of MODEM and
another side in Computer LAN Port.
c. Plug the Adapter in Switch board and plug the end side of Adapter in
Power Port of MODEM.
2. First turn on the Power from Adapter and then from MODEM by pressing the
Power Button.
3. Wait till all the lights of MODEM turned ON.
4. Now Open Run Prompt (
+ R) in your computer and type ncpa.cpl and press
enter. This will open Network Connections in computer.
5. Here you will find Local Area Connection. Now right click on Local Area

Connection and click on Properties.

6. After clicking on Properties below window open, now double click on Internet
Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPV4).

7. Now below window will appear, here click on Use the following IP Address and fill
the IP details as follows-:
IP Address
Subnet Mask
Default Gateway

192.168.1.2
255.255.255.0
192.168.1.1

8. Now click on OK and again OK to save the settings.

9. Now click on Start
All Programs
10. Now in URL type 192.168.1.1 and press Enter.

11. Now it will prompts for entering the Username and Password. In Username type
admin and in Password type admin. Click OK.

12. After Clicking OK below MODEM configuration page will open.

13. Now click on Advance Options and then click Edit.

14. After clicking on Edit below page will open, here keep the settings as per the
below picture. Now on Next.

15. Now below page will appear. Here Click on PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) and then
click on Next.

16. Now below page will appear. Do the following settings and click Next.
a. PPP Username
-(as given by BSNL for your Location)
b. PPP Password
-password
c. PPPoE Service Name
-dataone
d. Authenticate Method
-Auto.
e. Check Enable Fullcone NAT.
f. Check Bridge PPPoE Frames Between WAN and Local Ports (Default
Enabled) and MTU Size [576-1492] should be 1492

17. Now below window will appear. Do the following settings and click Next.
a. Check IGMP Multicast.
b. Check Enable WAN Services.

18. Now below window will appear. Click here on Save.

19. After clicking on Save below page will appear. Click on LAN here than Do the
following settings and then click Save/ Reboot.
a. IP Address 10.234.XXX.XXX (As per the details provided by BSNL)
b. Subnet Mask255.255.255.XXX (As per the details provided by BSNL)
c. Check Enable IGMP Snooping.
d. Check Blocking Mode.
e. Check Disable DHCP Server.

20. Now Open Run Prompt (

+ R) in your computer and type ncpa.cpl and press
enter. This will open Network Connections in computer.
21. Here you will find Local Area Connection. Now right click on Local Area

Connection and click on Properties.

22. After clicking on Properties below window open, now double click on Internet
Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPV4).

23. Now below window will appear, here click on Use the following IP Address and fill
the IP details as follows-:
IP Address
10.234.XXX.XXX (As per the details provided by BSNL)
Subnet Mask
255.255.255.XXX (As per the details provided by BSNL)

Default Gateway

10.234.XXX.XXX (As per the details provided by BSNL)

24. Now click on OK and again OK to save the settings.

25. Now click on Start
All Programs
.
26. Now in URL type 192.168.75.101/cctnsweb/login.aspx and press Enter then
CAS Online will open.
