Risk level : 2
Description
Now open the window of previously working MDC outlet hopper by shift fitter for
checking inside lumps or jamming.
If lumps found then try to break it by pocking rod, while performing this job
there is a possibility of dust & heat exposure to body and also tool may hit to
body part & cause cut injury so please take care of it.
If lumps found hard then carefully spray water on lumps with the hose
pipe.During this operation lumps may break and heat will generate and burn
injury can happen. So use face shield. Also hot lumps may hit to the body
Then start the discharge system with proper communication between discharge
attendant and discharge operator just for trial purpose.
If Bottom Silo Belt or MDAC still indicates high load, repeat the above
procedure till the load gets normal.
If foreign material found or any damage found inside the hopper, then inform
maintenance engineer or shift fitter to remove it.
After the clearance from Maintenance team start the discharge system for idle
trial & run for 3-5 min.
If idle trial found ok, then close the MDAC outlet hopper's window by shift fitter
& run the previous working discharge system for 10-15 min in idle condition so
that the material will be emptied out & it will be available.

Check walk way of kiln, if dust and material observed then clean it by using
shawol.
Then enter in kiln and check for lumps near carrousal knife as well as in
carrousal discharge hopper.
If lumps observed then break the lumps by pocking. Take care as area is
confined and person can fall.Continuous exposure will increase heat to
body,So exposure should be 10-15 min. only.
If lumps found hard then spray water carefully on lumps. The lumps may break
into several piece during water spraying and can cause severe injury to man
who is doing the job.So keep sufficient distance from the lumps during water
spray for safe operation
If lumps get break, then stop the water & close both the door & open gas valve
& start specific airblower.
After 15 min. start the carussal only & observe it's load, if found normal start
the discharge of kiln. If still taking high load repeat the above procedure till
carrousal load gets normal.
Sometimes lumps get stuck up in carousal outlet hopper. Then open the
stardischarge inlet hopper's window by shift fitter & check inside material which
is jamming.
Break the lumps with pocking of rod(parai) than start stardischarge with proper
communication for removal it. If lumps found hard than spray water carefully
on lumps properly. If still taking high load repeat above procedure till
stardischarge load gets normal.

PRE START-UP CHECKS
Ensure Star discharger is isolated by stopping kiln's respective Air
blower,Escorgot, carrousal and power off the Star dicharger & locked out and
also close the gas valve of respective kiln
Ensure kiln's discharge apron conveyor is in running condition.
If kiln's discharge apron conveyor is not running, informed to shift incharge or
operator and call the Electrical person.
All Kiln's bottom bag filters must be working to avoid dust exposer
Ensure no person is doing cleaning or maintenance job near the discharge
apron conveyor and star discharger of specific kiln.
CHECKS DURING STAR DISCHARGER JAMMING REMOVAL
Open the star discharger inlet hopper's window by shift fitter & check inside
jamming of the material with the help of illumination torch. The jamming may be
formed due to the reation of lime kiln bottom dust and leakage of cone sealing
water inside the kiln or it may be in lumps form. While performing this job there
is a possibility of dust & heat exposure to body and also tool may hit to body
part & cause injury. So please take care of it.

If jamming found try to clear it by pocking rod. While performing this job there is
a possibility of dust & heat exposure to body and also tool may hit to body part

Also hot lumps may hit to the body
part.so please take care of it.
Then start star discharger in forward or reverse direction with proper
communication between discharge attendant and discharge operator just for
trial purpose.
If star discharger still taking high load, repeat the above procedure till star
discharge load gets normal.
If foreign material found or any damage found inside the star feeder, then
