POST-STACK DATA LOADING

First Create a Survey

Fig1 : OW Command Menu

In the Openworks Command Menu , Select

Data > Management > Seismic Data Manager

In the Seismic Data Manager tab , Select 3D Survey

In 3D Survey Compute General and Grid Information

Save the Survey ( Example Save as Miroli Survey)

Post-Stack Data Loading Using Seismic Tools

Fig4: Using Seismic Tools

Fig5: OW Command Menu

In the Openworks Command Menu , Select

Data > Management > Seismic Tools

Fig6: Seismic tools Command Menu

In the Seismic Tools Menu , Select

Seismic > Post Stack data loader > Input data:: Select SEGY and Select Parameters
Post stack Family R5000 window > Input Data > Select Disk > Analyze
(Before analyze check data attribute and domain type)

Fig7

SEGY Data Input tab will Open

SEG-Y Data Input Window > Select Data Media Storage as Disk > Select Analyze tab
(Check Data Attribute, Domain, update from template etc)

Fig8

(SEGY analyzer window will open)

Fig9

In SEG-Y Analyzer Window select the Disk file name (File > Select > Select the .sgy file).
Select start bottom to start the Analyze ..........Remember It will take some time

Note: The data will shown in Disk File name area , then push the start bottom , it will take automatically the standard
default segy template in Template name area /other wise select the template name from interactive SEGY analyzer
window ( Interactive SEGY Analyzer window > Template > Select> Standard SEGY) and the start the Analyze Process

The Analyzing Job is complete now. Now to check the template whether it is correct or any scaling factor is required
for CDPX and CDPY value.

Fig14
Go to the Interactive SEGY Analyzer window and Show EBCIDIC Text header like Iline, X line, Shot Point, CDP
X Coordinate, CDO Y Coordinate etc.
Compare the EBCIDIC text header and BINARY trace heard of selected data whether binary trace header are
correct or any changes is required in In-line, X-line, Shot Point, CDP X and CDP Y Coordinate Position. The
value of CDPX and CDPY may check carefully whether any scaling factor is required or not.
To shoe the Binary Trace Header :: Interactive SEGY Analyzer > Trace > Header view

Fig15

Fig16

Now Check the Trace header information ( Mainly Shot point, X Cord, Y Cord, #D Line and 3D Trace :: marked in blue
portion of Trace header view ) with EBCDIC Header Information (Which information we already got by clicking
Interactive SEGY Analyzer tab).

Fig:15

Fig16

Comparison Result:

Byte Information of Inline, X Line, CDPX and CDP Y indicated in EBCIDIC Text header is not match with Trace
header view and also digit of CDPX and CDPY is also not correct.
Note the header information in trace header view is showing the information from automatic selected
Standard_SEGY format. So the template format is required modification according the original EBCIDIC data
information.

SEGY Analyzer browse > Edit template :: This template is the default template named as Standard_SEGY
intially for which wrong trace header fig 16 was shown , therefore modification and also save after this is
required for this template. Later using this modified template we will again analyze the input seismic .sgy
data to check whether the prvious problem byte location value of x y is showing correctly after scaling
factor. If it is shows ok then it will (this modified saved template will be used during our input data loading.
the standard SEGY template will open
SeG y Analyzer window > Browse / Edit template

Fig 17: Browse the default template, which need modification

accordingly EBCIDIC header data and scaling factor for X and Y

Figure18: Corrected teamplate

named as miroli_bidyut2

Then save the new template after modification

After save ----plz check whether template is change and correct binary header is given for this again the data analyze
and check the x y factor, if it is ok, then save, your template is rready to use for data load

Display the correct header view ...with cheking of x y factor

Save the format ................ and this format is apply in template name ------------- and again analyze and see the
differenvce
