CONVENIENCE STORE

SPECIFICATION
GENERAL NOTES:
All civil works herein shall be done in accordance with these plans and
specification, the applicable provisions of the latest edition of National Structural Code of
the Philippines published by the Association of Structural Engineers of the Philippines
(ASEP), the Rules and Regulations of the local enforcing authority. The civil works shall be
done under immediate supervision of a duly licensed Civil Engineer.
SCOPE OF WORKS:

General Condition:
The work included in this project comprised the furnishing of all materials, labor,
tools, equipments and other facilities and the satisfactory performance of all work
necessary to complete this project as shown on plans and detail drawings. All items of work
specified herein but not included in the bid schedule shall be omitted as if not shown in this
specification. Also, the latter shall prevail, in case items of work are not shown in the
specifications but included in the bid schedule. Materials not subjected to quality tests
should be certified PS-Mark by DTI.
3. Items of Works:
I-
CLEARING
This item shall consist of furnishing of labor and the necessary tools for the
removal of structures for the purpose of replacing or construct a new structure of type,
size and shape as shown on plans and detail drawing.
All materials removed if not turned waste shall be kept in place as designated by
the engineer.
II-
EXCAVATION
Dimension, size, depth and all alignment of excavation shall be as shown on
plans and detail drawing. Excavated excess materials shall be hauled within the free
haul distance (500 m radius).
III-
EMBANKMENT
Embankment/backfill shall be composed of suitable materials placed in layer not
exceeding 200 mm 8 inches) in loose thickness and compacted as specified for
embankment.
IV - FORMWORKS
Use 5 mm thk. form ordinary plywood for all concrete works exposed or
unexposed to view.
Use Coco lumber of seasoned type for form frames
V- CONCRETE WORKS
Description
This Item shall consist of furnishing, placing and finishing concrete in building
structures in accordance with this specification and conforming to the lines, grades,
dimension shown on the plans.
The quality of concrete shall comply with section 5.4 of the National Structural
Code of the Philippines for Building and with the specific requirements outlined in
various sections of this specification.
Material Requirements:
Coarse aggregates and fine aggregates shall be well graded and conform to the
standard DPWH Specs.
Cement must be stored and protect against dampness and shall conform to the
requirements of blended hydraulic cement.
No pouring of concrete shall be allowed without the use of concrete vibrator.
Water shall be clear and apparently clean and free from impurities such amount of
alkalis, acids and oils and other organic matter.
No Pouring activity shall be allowed without pouring permits.
Use class A mixture for all concrete works. All concrete design mixture (Normal
Concrete) must attain the 20.70 MPa (3,000 Psi) strength and must use Portland
Cement Type I.
VI- MASONRY
Description
This item shall consist of finishing and placing of concrete hollow blocks of type,
size and shape as shown on plans and specifications
Material Requirement
Concrete hollow blocks shall be of approved quality and shall meet Material
Testing and Quality Control. Use 500 Psi for non-load bearing.
Use 10 mm def. Bars with the spacing of vertical reinforcement at 0.60 m O.C.
and horizontal reinforcement at every third layer of CHB.
VII- PLASTERING
Description
This item shall consist of furnishing all cement plaster materials, labor, tools and
equipment required in undertaking cement plaster finish as shown on the plans and in
accordance with this specification.
Material Requirements
Portland cement shall conform with the requirement of blended hydraulic cement.
Fine aggregate shall be cleaned washed and conformed with the standard
DPWH Specs.
Finish coat shall be pure Portland cement properly graded and mix with water to
approved consistency.
Cement plaster finish shall be 12.50mm ( inch) thk. with smooth finish.
VIII- CARPENTRY WORKS
Counters, Tables, Cabinets, Drawers, Partitions, Handrail and wall sidings.
Description
This item shall consist of furnishing and placing of carpentry items as to type,
size and shape as shown on plans and detailed drawing.
The materials shall be treated, well seasoned, free from loose or unsowed knots
sap cracks, shakes and other imperfections, impairing their strength durability and or
appearance. For door jamb, all surfaces with concrete shall be nailed with 4 or 3 CW
nails for anchorage.
Material Requirements
Hollow Core Flush Doors (Not included)
- Use 2x 6 lawaan door jamb or its equivalent.
- Use 2x 3 lawaan main door frame or its equivalent.
- Use 2x 2 lawaan door frame or its equivalent.
- Use 5mm thk. Marine plywood.
Use heavy duty door closer.
- Use Door knob (heavy duty).
- Use 4x 4 stainless steel hinges.
- Apply clear type wood preservatives prior to installation.
- Apply wood glue prior to nailing on all joints and edges
before to nailing.
Cabinets and Drawers
- Use 18mm thk. Marine plywood.
- Use 18mm x 25mm S4S red lawaan edging or its equivalent.
- Use 25mm thk. solid board lawaan or its equivalent.
- Use metal roller drawer guide.
- Use self closing concealed hinges for cabinet doors.
- Use plastic drawer handle.
- Use chrome plated cabinet handle.
STEEL WORKS
Description
This item shall consist of fabrication and installation of steel pipe
post, mezzanine floor girder and joist, bracket plates, deco-iron grills
and light gauge metal frame for furnishing and placing such as to type
size and shape as shown on plans and detail drawing. Use A36 Steel
for all steel works ( fy=248 MPa).
Material Requirements:
All structural steel shapes and plates shall conform to ASTM A36
with minimum yield strength (fy) of 36 Ksi (248 MPa working strength).
Structural steel fabrication and erection of the structure shall
comply with all the pertinent provisions of AISC specifications.
All bolts, nuts and washers shall conform to ASTM A325 unless
otherwise indicated with yield strength of 325 MPa.
All pipe used as support members must be G.I. schedule 40
unless otherwise specified.
All welding electrodes shall be E70xx. All welding works shall be
performed by qualified and certified welders. Welding works shall also
comply with AWS Code for arc and gas welding for construction.
X-
CEILING WORKS
Description
This item shall consist of fabrication and installation of fiber
cement board ceiling and the necessary ceiling frames and accessories
as shown on plans and detail drawing.
Materials Requirements
Ceiling
Use 4.5mm thk. fiber cement board.
Use 50mm x 100mm x 3.0m Lawaan wood Nailer.
Use 0.80mm Thk. X 12mm x 38mm x 3.0m Carrying Channel.
Use 0.40mm Thk. X 19mm x 50mm x 3.0m Metal Furring
Channel.
Use 0.607mm Thk. W-Clip.
Use 8mm Plain bar X 6m Steel bar rod hanger.
Use DF Furring joiner in connections.
Use 5mm x 37mm x 37mm x 6m Angle bar hanger clip.
Use 10mm x 75mm Expansion bolt w/ nut & washer.
Use 12.50mm length Flat head screw (power load and drive pin).

TILE WORKS
Description
This item shall consist of furnishing all ceramic tiles and
cementitious materials, tools and equipment including labor required
in undertaking the proper installation of floor tiles as shown on the
plans and in accordance with this specification.
Material Requirements
Use 0.60m x 0.60m Synthetic Gloss Granite tiles for flooring,
and 0.30m x 0.30m vetrified tiles non-skid texture for stairs. Unglazed
XIII- PAINTINGS
Description
This item shall consist of furnishing all paint materials, labor, tools.
Equipment and plant required in undertaking the proper application using
proper painting standard procedure and methods of painting and must be
executed by a professional building painter indicated on the plans and in
accordance with this specification.
Material Requirements- use leading brand paint
For exposed masonry (interior wallings) and light gauge metal
frame partitions
-
Apply body filler on wall cracks and uneven surface then sand
thoroughly.
Apply putty all over the surface (patching compound mixed with
enamel).
