Statement of Purpose for MTech Software System

The expanding use of computers across all segments and facets of industry demands ever more efficient
and effective networking technology. Coming from a software application background, I have become
fascinated with the world of networking and have developed a strong desire to better understand the
challenging tasks involved in interconnecting mobile, desktop and server devices. This interest culminated
in my decision to pursue a graduate degree, majoring in the field of Software Systems.
My Personal Background
My prodigious appetite for knowledge started from the moment I learned to write the English alphabet on
the sandy grounds of my kindergarten school. That event spurred me to work assiduously, acquiring new
information on whatever topic I set out to learn, and it stirred me to attain ever-greater goals.
Blessed with schooling from CBSE New Delhi, one of the premier boards of education in India, I was
strongly motivated to succeed. I passed my X class exams with over 79% marks and achieved the third
position in my city. After the completion of my secondary school studies, I was admitted to the SD
College of Engineering and Technology, one of the most reputable colleges in Uttar Pradesh. I obtained
marks of 73.62% in the B.Tech exams in the undergraduate program, majoring in Software Systems.
During my undergraduate course of study, I was exposed to many fascinating subjects including
programming languages such as C and Java, classes in Data Structures and a Computer Networks course.
My B.Tech degree led to my current position at Zapbuild, an innovative web and IT consulting company
where I have continued to increase my software development skills in a variety of areas including PHP,
Ruby, and database development in addition to learning several new libraries, frameworks, and APIs.
Throughout my education and career, I have been supported by family members who believe strongly in
the importance of a good education. A good example is my brother, a research analyst in the field of Bio
Informatics. He received a PhD in biotechnology, and has been a guide and an inspiration to me in my
goal to attend graduate school. I firmly hope that I can continue to make my family proud of my success,
and someday reach the level of formal education that my brother has achieved.
My Motivation
I have always believed that one should never give up the habit of asking questions, and this habit is an
important facet of my creative personality. I seek to invent new ideas by applying the basic principles of
existing theories and practices in uncommon ways.
There is a saying which states, The only thing permanent in life is Change. This idea correlates perfectly
to the world of Software Systems where novel ideas are not a novelty for long. It is this constant stream
of new ideas that entices me to this field, and gives me a deep sense of professional pride.
Coming from a family where everyone has excelled in academic achievements, I also
graduate studies and research in a University of Excellence. I desire a school which
opportunity to work with the most modern and sophisticated equipment. I would like
intellectual environment that will help me to realize my dreams of further exploration
this field.

I believe that Accomplishments lie within the reach of those who reach beyond themselves. Training in
your esteemed university would provide a huge lift to my aspirations, and I would be so honored to be
