Costs.
Until August 4, 2014, I was an Associate at Mayer Brown, LLP. A separate declaration is being
submitted with regard to the work I performed under Mayer Browns auspices.
4.
I graduated with honors from the University of Chicago Law School in 2009. I
was admitted to Illinois bar the same year, and I remain a member in good standing. I am
admitted to practice in the Northern District of Illinois and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

contemporaneously with the performance of the work. It lists the date on which the work was
performed, a description of the tasks undertaken, and the time devoted to each task. Exhibit A
fairly and accurately represents the time I spent on this case.

Mayer Brown, LLP, in Chicago. My practice there included complex commercial dispute
resolution, ranging from class action litigation to international and domestic arbitration. I also
worked on several pro bono matters. These included a successful habeas appeal in the Seventh
Circuit, an employment discrimination action, and a challenge to Illinois ban on marriage for
same-sex couples.
8.
At Loevy & Loevy, my cases involve almost exclusively civil rights litigation
under 42 U.S.C. 1983. The issues I work on include wrongful conviction, denial of medical
care to incarcerated people, retaliation for exercise of free speech, and race-based harassment. I
also represent clients bringing qui tam actions under the False Claims Act (31 U.S.C. 3729 et
seq.).
9.
In my current position, I work on a contingency fee basis and thus do not bill
clients for my time. However, my requested rate of $400 per hour reflects my experience with
complex litigation and civil rights matters. As the information submitted in relation to my work
at Mayer Brown shows, I billed my clients there at a much higher rate. Based upon these factors,
I believe my requested hourly rate of $400 for 29.5 hours of work is reasonable.
I declare under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and correct to the best of my
knowledge.
