    Challenge #1 Data is hard to access


    Meter readings are taken every half-hour from renewable
    generators (above 30kW in size)
    By default, this billable data is:
    - Not accessible by owner (or 3rd parties)
    - Extreme latency: dispatched to the supplier in a batch
    the day after
    Why cant data owners have more control over who gets
    access?
    - 3rd parties (like OU)
    - Or Open Access?

    Challenge #2 Archaic ID Administration


    MPAN - Meter Point Administration Number
    13 digit unique identifier - i.e. 12 000 60700 400
    - No open access to database (only via your utility
    supplier or local grid operator)
    - Mistakes are the norm (not associated with right
    meter, or meters that do not have an MPAN)
    - Problem: Switching supplier takes 6 weeks, and often
    takes longer to tidy up previous bill payments
    - Suggestions for a better administration system?
