Public Advocate James explained the role of Public Advocate, who
acts a watchdog on behalf of New York City residents. The Public Advocate said she travels to all five boroughs to listen to the peoples stories and to
find out how her office can help. PA James added she shares the same values
as Council Member Paul Vallone, including love of family and love of faith,
and thanked him and the club for inviting her Wednesday evening.
Hersh
Parekh, President of Queens County Young Democrats, updated members of
the Young Dems activities. They had recently volunteered in elections such
as Domenic Recchias congressional run and races in Nassau County. He invited the Clinton Democratic Club to QCYDs upcoming events, including
their holiday party in December.
Council Member Paul Vallone thanked Public Advocate James for addressing the Clinton Democratic Club and called her not only a great public
servant but also a dear friend. The Council Member addressed some recent
legislation worked on by him, the Public Advocate, and the New York City
Council. The Council Member also invited members and the community to
his inaugural children's holiday parade on Sunday, December 7th.
