Feeding Instructions

Advance PRO-LYTE PLUS is a unique nutritional energy

supplement supplying electrolytes for calves, pigs, lambs, kids
and foals. It provides rapidly available energy and essential
electrolytes and fluids when mixed with water and should be
fed as soon as possible when the animal requires
supplemental energy, nutrients and electrolytes. Pro-Lyte Plus
is a free flowing white colored powder that easily mixes in
warm water.

MIXING DIRECTIONS
Provide 4 oz or 113.5 grams per 2 quarts warm water
(100F). For smaller quantities, provide 1 oz. per 20 fl oz of
water (2 heaping tablespoons per 2 cups water). Add to
warm water and stir briskly.

FEEDING DIRECTIONS
CALVES (replacement heifers, bull calves, or veal calves):
Standard Program
At first sign of requiring supplemental energy, nutrients and
electrolytes, feed Pro-Lyte Plus to replace a portion of the
regular milk replacer feeding program. Continue feeding
Pro-Lyte Plus twice a day (1012 hour intervals) for 4 days
or 8 feedings. Return calf to full milk feeding over a 4 day
period.
Enhanced Recovery Program
Research has demonstrated less weight loss and
diarrhea when calves continue to be fed milk replacer
during periods of scouring. Feed 2 quarts of milk replacer
and 2 quarts of Pro-Lyte Plus twice daily. Reduce amount of
Pro-Lyte Plus gradually as calf returns to health.
Newly arrived, shipped-in calves
Animals newly arrived at a rearing unit and requiring
supplemental energy, nutrients, and electrolytes should be
fed 2 quarts milk replacer and 2 quarts of Pro-Lyte Plus
twice a day.
FEEDING/MANAGEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ALL CALVES

At each feeding, feed the milk replacer first followed by

Pro-Lyte Plus 1530 minutes later. Any Pro-Lyte Plus not
voluntarily consumed within 15 minutes should be given by
esophageal feeder. Provide free choice water. Feed from an
open pail or nipple.

FEEDING DIRECTIONS
PIGS
For individual baby pigs, use a syringe with a small plastic tube for force feeding or a dose bottle/pump.
Baby pigs still with the sow should be group fed mixed Pro-Lyte Plus ad-libitum for 2448 hours using a
suitable feeder. Weaned pigs should be fed mixed Pro-Lyte Plus ad-libitum for 12 hours and access to
normal water source limited during this period.
LAMB/KID
If lamb/kid is being fed milk from a nipple bottle, feed mixed product in the bottle or feed through normal
feeders or tube.
FOAL
Feed from an open pail or with a tube.
