Job Description of Videography Internship

I. Internship Introduction
If you love to learn, we'd love your help! This is a virtual/remote opportunity. Working
hour is flexible and depends on specific project. However, commitment of 10 hours per
week, and six months or a year is given priority and consideration.
Chinook Fund is a community foundation. It pools the resources of individuals and
businesses to support the best of peer-reviewed grassroots organizations working for
social change and to improve the quality of life for all Coloradans.
Interns will gain valuable team project experience as well as have the opportunity to
influence and implement some individual projects. Interns at the Chinook Fund can expect
to build specific skills in the following areas:
Gain practical experience in videography to build short films that demonstrate value
& impact of nonprofit organizations;
Increase planning, organizational and time management skills;
Learn project design, management, and delivery;
Increase knowledge of nonprofit-specific technology tools;
Develop team-based work competencies;
Opportunities to participate in programmatic components of Chinooks operations
including participation in program committee meetings, grantmaking coordination,
and events and trainings.
II. Projects and Responsibilities
The Videography Intern will be supporting Chinook Fund Multimedia activities including
social media campaigns and on/offline marketing. Detailed duties for specific projects will
include:
Shoots scenes and records images in Chinook Funds fundraising campaigns,
information sessions/presentations, Parties, internal committee meetings, and
other activities as needed, for television broadcasting, film production,
advertisement and promotions;
Makes technical decisions regarding such elements as appropriate lighting, shooting
angle and placement and type of microphone; receives explicit instructions
regarding assignment;
Edits and assembles final visual/audio program material; ensures consistency and
relevancy to production; monitors technical quality of end product;
Make story-based films and advertising video, to illustrate Chinook Funds social
impact and serve social media marketing purpose.
III. Qualities/Experiences Desired
The Videography Intern should demonstrate:

Knowledge of the theory and techniques required to compose, produce, and


perform works of music, dance, visual arts, drama, and sculpture.
Knowledge of field production techniques and standards and skills in visualizing
and shooting concepts effectively.
Ability to cut, edit and compose footage to express the emotions, intention and
effects expected by Chinook Fund.
Ability to oversee the special effects creative process, to fulfill needs of specific
project and reach the targeted population;
An awareness of structures of power, privilege, and oppression;
A good sense of humor and the ability to get along with many types of leaders;
Ability to interact with diverse populations with respect and critical self-reflection;
High level of initiative, as well as excellent time management and project
management skills, to be able to work on several different projects concurrently and
meet deadlines on time or early;
High level of accountability and ability to work well both independently and as a
part of a team;
Ability to be flexible with Chinook Funds changing needs, a high comfort level with
web-based communication and web-based programs.
