WEEKLY LITURGY SCHEDULE

ST TERESA OF THE CHILD JESUS, SHENLEY ROAD

Sunday Mass: Saturday (Vigil Mass) 6pm; Sunday 10am, (Tea and coffee in St Teresa’s Parish
Centre after this Mass – all are welcome)
Weekday Mass: Mon, Tues, Thurs & Fri - Mass at 9.15am. (There is no Mass on a Wednesday or
Saturday morning, except 1st Saturday of each month at SS John Fisher and Thomas More Church –
see below – Please note that Weekday Mass times are subject to change)
Services of Word and Holy Communion: When Fr Michael or a supply priest is unavailable to
celebrate Mass, Sr Margaret or Sr Mary will conduct a Service of Word and Holy Communion.
Sacrament of Reconciliation: Saturday 11am to 11.30am & 5pm to 5.40pm or by appointment
Private Prayer before the Blessed Sacrament: 1st Saturday of each month at SS John Fisher &
Thomas More Church between 10 am and 11 am
Rosary Group: Normally every Friday 7.15pm at St Teresa’s Church, Shenley Road.

Sunday Mass: 8.30am & 12 Noon


First Saturday of every month: Mass at 9.30am followed by private prayer before the Blessed
Sacrament till 11am. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will take place between 10 and 10.30am

PARISH INFORMATION

BAPTISM – if you wish to have your child baptised, please collect one of the yellow forms which are available at
the back of both churches. Complete the form and return to Fr Michael at St Teresa’s. He will then contact you to
arrange an appointment for you to come and see him.

MARRIAGE – Please note that if you are planning on getting married, the Catholic Church requires six months
notice so that the necessary paperwork, discernment and marriage preparation course can take place. In the first
instance you should contact Fr Michael who will arrange to see you.

MASS INTENTIONS – If you wish to have a Mass offered, please write the intention clearly and include it in an
envelope with your offering. If the intention is for a person who is deceased, then please include whether it is for
an anniversary or a recent death. If the Mass is for a person who is living, or any other intention, then please
make this clear to avoid any confusion – many thanks.

SWINE FLU PRECAUTIONS – Going on recent Government guidelines and instructions from the Diocese, it has
been decided that Swine Flu precautions can now be relaxed. Holy Water has been returned to the stoops and
the sign of peace can be given in the normal manner

ST TERESA’S PARISH CENTRE – Based at St Teresa’s, Shenley Road, is available for hire. If you wish to
make use of this facility, enquire about rates or have any other enquiries, please contact Mrs Sue Partington,
Joint Parishes Secretary on 0208 953 1294 between 10 am - 2 pm (not Wednesday)

CHRISTMAS RAFFLE – There are still quite a few unclaimed Christmas Raffle prizes. To collect your prize
please contact Fr Michael after the Sunday Masses or speak to Sue Partington, Joint Parishes Secretary on
0208 953 1294.

PRAYER AND PETITIONS BOARD – A board for written prayers and petitions is now in place at the back of St
Teresa’s Church adjacent to the image of Divine Mercy and the Book of Remembrance. If you leave your
petitions on the board, we can pray for each other and Fr Michael will remember the intentions of all those who
have left petitions during the celebration of Mass.

HOME START BOREHAMWOOD & DISTRICT – is a charity that supports families with at least one child under
the age of 5. They are currently taking places for their next Volunteers Preparation Course. If you have parenting
experience, can commit to 2 hours per week to visit a family and are interested in finding out more, telephone

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

JOHN LYNCH RIP - The family of the late John Lynch (formerly of Borehamwood) wish to make it known to all
who knew him that he tragically and suddenly died in South Africa on the 11th December 2009 as a result of a
heart attack. Mass will be offered for the repose of his soul at 9.15 am on Monday 11th January at St Teresa’s
Church.

THE PASSAGE – Mr Andrew Hollingsworth from ‘The Passage’ will be giving an appeal at all the Masses next
weekend, the 9th and 10th of January. The Passage is London's largest voluntary sector day centre for homeless
people helping more than 200 homeless and vulnerable men and women each day.

READERS – an evening with Miss Tish Nicoll, a teacher of vocal communications has been arranged for the
readers from both our parishes which will take place on Thursday 11th February from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm at St
Teresa’s Church. It is expected will take part in what will be an instructive and enjoyable session. Please
confirm your attendance or apologies by e mailing the Parish Secretary Sue Partington at

SPECIAL MORNING FOR ALL CATECHISTS - Saturday 30 January - 10.00am - 1.00pm.This will be led by
Mary Crowley from the Diocesan Department for Catechesis. This morning is for all who help with Catechesis in
our Parish - First Holy Communion, Confirmation and with Liturgy of the Word for Children.
