Aysha Kamal
Whole School Head of Extended Learning
Aysha graduated from a London university in 1997 with a First Class Honours
Degree in Primary Teaching Studies, specialising in English, Bilingualism and
Early Years Education. She worked in multicultural, multilinguistic and multifaith
urban schools in London for nine years, teaching every age group from Early Years Nursery
(EYFS & KS1) through to Year 6 (Key Stage 2). Her posts in these schools in addition to that of a
class teacher were: Literacy Subject Leader, Phase Leader, Ethnic Minority Achievement
Coordinator, English as an Additional Language Coordinator, Gifted and Talented Coordinator,
Phase Leader and a member of the Senior Leadership Team. In 2005 Aysha worked in a
Supplementary School teaching KS3-4 English, Mathematics and Science. She also began a
leadership course in 2005-2006, which resulted in achieving the National Professional
Qualification for Headteachers (NPQH) in 2007. For the last five years, prior to moving to Dubai,
Aysha worked for a Government Local Authority as a Literacy and English as an Additional
Language Consultant, leading training for teachers and working in partnership with schools and
senior leaders to improve teaching and learning and raise standards of English. Aysha has been
in her current role at JBS for 3 years and enjoys the outdoors, swimming, MMA, traveling,
reading, cinema, theatre and exploring Dubai.
Yvonne Donoghue
Learning Support Teacher (Secondary)
Having taking a Philosophy degree and graduating with Honours, in 1999, Yvonne
went on to take a Masters Degree in Special Education from the UKs Open
University. She taught in Ireland for three years before moving to the UAE in 2002,
where she taught Key Stage 1 (Kindergarten 2 and Grade 1) in both Sharjah and Dubai. She also
holds a CELTA teaching certificate. After recent service with the Malaysian Ministry of
Education as a teacher trainer, mentor and facilitator in primary schools, Yvonne returned to
Dubai where she joined JBS primary staff in September 2011, before her appointment to the
learning support team in September 2013.

Emily Beveridge
Learning Support Teacher (Upper Primary)
In 2008 Emily graduated from St. Lawrence College of Kingston Ontario, Canada with an
Honours Degree in Early Childhood Education. In 2008, she continued her studies at Griffith
University of Brisbane, Australia where she completed her Bachelors Degree and Post
Graduate Degree in Primary Education. Since qualifying, Emily spent time working as a group
leader in a kindergarten on the Gold Coast before beginning her primary teaching career in
Brisbane where she taught grades 2 and 4 in a small state school in a suburb of Brisbane,
Queensland. Emily relocated to Dubai in January 2014 with her husband and joined JBS in
August 2014.

Aisling Mannion
Learning Support Teacher (Lower Primary)
Aisling completed her B.Ed. at St. Patricks College of Education in Dublin, and also
holds a Graduate Diploma in Special Needs Education (Specialising in High
Incidence Special Needs). She is an experienced class room teacher, and has more
recently worked as a specialist Learning Support teacher before joining JBS in August 2012. She
has held positions of responsibility for PE, Health and Safety and Social education. Like many of
our staff she has a keen interest in sport, enjoying running and tennis.
Irina Divina
EAL Teacher (Primary)
Irina graduated in 1999 with Honours from the Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University which is in
the South of Russia with a Masters Degree in English Linguistics and General Psychology and
Pedagogy. Right after graduation she started her English teaching career in Sochi, Russia and
worked with adults and children teaching English as a Second Language. In 2003, she secured a
position as a language instructor at the Federal University of Ecology in the Sochi Department
of the Russian Academy of Science with the responsibility of assessment and curriculum design
on English Undergraduate Programmes. Since 2007 she has also been involved in voluntary
work translating and interpreting for the Sochi Olympic Committee amongst others. After
moving to Dubai in 2013 she completed a CELTACertificate (Grade B) at International House
Dubai and worked at a language training centre in Dubai Knowledge Village as an English
teacher, preparing children for local international schools. Irina joined JBS primary Extended
Learning Team in October 2013 as an EAL teacher. In her spare time she likes reading,
travelling, keeping fit and doing yoga.

Ingrid Babyan
EAL Academy Teacher
Ingrid did her Bachelor's degree at University of North Dakota and Tbilisi State
University, where she studied linguistics and languages. She then received her
Master's degree in Applied Linguistics and a teaching certificate at Texas Tech
University, where she taught Russian as a second language for two years. Before her
appointment at JBS in August 2014, Ingrid taught for one and a half years at a training center in
Dubai, where she instructed English as a second language to children and adults.
Neimat Ilyas EAL/LS Teaching Assistant (secondary)
Neimat was born and has always lived in Dubai. She graduated high school with a CBSE
diploma. Having an interest in finance and numbers, Neimat then completed and qualified as an
ACCA (Associate Certified Chartered Accountant). Neimat then applied this knowledge and
started her PER (practical experience requirement) in a local business and soon realized her
true passion and calling was for education and supporting students. She is multi-lingual and
speaks four languages fluently and is currently learning two other languages, as she has a keen
interest in expanding this further. Neimat is artistic and her other interests include cooking and
baking, desserts in particular.
