describe the function of the organisations (E.g The
American Cancer Society). The names of organisations
in memory of people with a mission to help others may
encourage donations.

- Make yours unique, There are over 1.5 million nonprofit


organisations registered. To compete with other
organisations clearly dierentiate yours.

- Media and public attention : Nonprofit organisations


have to deal with media and public relations constantly
to manage the attentions and interest of donors to
attract them and continuously get donations from them.

- Mission, Not for profits : The main goal of a nonprofit in


not to make money but to serve the public. However to
serve they need to make money. Balancing a mission
and funding.

it hard to find enough money/donations to survive.

- Administrative costs : Too much of a positive revenue


over expenses can subject a nonprofit organisation to
criticism for not spending enough on its mission.

- Plan your straggles such as fund-raising strategy,

operate as a nonprofit, tax exemption organisation.

Hong Kong. Their missions is to feed people in Hong
Kong who would otherwise go hungry. They also raise
public awareness about poverty and food insecurity /
reduce the volume of food waste / promote volunteerism
and support existing community and promote healthy
eating and nutritional education to the most vulnerable
groups in Hong Kong community.

leaders could do more work to accomplish their
missions if they have more money,more access to
decision making,more talented board members
etc.

tax.

- The cost of creating a nonprofit organisation is one of the


disadvantage. It takes time,eort and money.

- Eligibility for public and private grants : Incorporation puts


the nonprofits mission and structure above the personal
interest.

- Limited Liability : Under the law, creditors and courts are


limited to the assists of the non-profit organisation.The

founders,members and employees are not personally


liable for the nonprofits debts.

- As an exempt corporation, nonprofit must keep detailed


records and summit annual filings to the state and IRS by
stated deadlines in order to keep its active and exempt
status

- A nonprofit organisations are dedicated to the public


interest, therefore, its finance are open to public inspection.
The public may obtain copies of a nonprofit organisations
state and federal filings to learn about salaries and other
expenditures.
