Lagundi

Lagundi (scientific name: Vitex negundo) is a large native


shrub that grows in the Philippines and has been traditionally
used as herbal medicine. The Philippine Department of Health
has conducted research and study for Lagundi and has
suggested that the lagundi plant has a number verifiable
therapeutic value

Tawa Tawa
Tawa tawa or Euphorbia hirta has been claimed to have a
curative effects on dengue patients, based on personal
testimonies, particularly in the Philippines.

Pansit-pansitan
Pansit-pansitan Herb Pansit-pansitan is a common plant that
grows in damp places that is valued for its medicinal
properties.
Pansit-pansitan Medicinal Uses Used to treat high uric acid,
gout, arthritis, fever, skin wounds, pimples, abdominal
problems, renal problems and others.

Banaba
Banaba is a flowering plant that grows in warm climate like
the Philippines, India and others. Banaba is widely used in the
Philippines and as herbal medicine for diabetes. While in India,
Banaba is also used in Ayurvedic medicine for the treatment
of diabetes.

Oregano
Oregano is known botanically as Origanum vulgare and is called
wild marjoram in many parts of Europe since it is closely
related to the herb that we know as sweet marjoram. It is a
small shrub with multi-branched stems covered with small
grayish-green oval leaves and small white or pink flowers

Taheebo
Taheebo(Tabebuia avellanedae) has been promoted for many
years as an anticancer herb, and lay reports have claimed
efficacy in a variety of cancers. However, there is sufficient
scientific proof to support this use. Antifungal and antibiotic
properties also are claimed in promotional literature, with
topical and oral dosing for candidiasis. While taheebo shows
some promise, no clinical trials have been conducted for any
indication.

Guava Leaf
In the Philippines, oil of seeds used as a drastic purgative.
Decoction of roots used a cure for diarrhea.
External applications for bleeding, ulceration of wound,
pruritus.

Salay
In the Philippines, it is commonly used on bathing women after
they gave birth.

Luya
Luya or ginger has been used as herbal medicine in many
cultures for hundreds of years, Luya or ginger is claimed to
have many medicinal value, from antibacterial, antiinflamatory to anti nausea and treatment of sore throat.

Gumamela
Gumamela(Hibiscus)is widely used on provinces on the
Philippines as treatment or ointment on some skin diseases
like pigsa.

Tubang Bakod
Tubang Bakod (Jathropa Curcai L.) is a traditional cure for
abdominal pains. Its leaves are patched on the part that hurts
and folks claim that it comforts after quite some time.

Arobela
Arobelais an herb that is applied on hair and scalp to aid hair
fall.

Takip kuhol
Takip kuhol (Centella asiatica) is a perennial herbaceous plant common in moist
tropical and subtropical regions of India and South America. The drug is derived
from the aerial parts (leaves, stems, stolons) that are cut at the time of flowering.
Takip kuhol has been used for centuries as a medicinal herb, as far back as 3000
years ago in Indian Ayurvedic medicine, 2000 years ago in Chinese medicine, in the
late 1800s in French pharmacopoeia. Contrary to its name, it contains no cola or
caffeine.(2)It has been called the fountain of life because legend has it that an
ancient Chinese herbalist lived for more than 200 years as a result of taking gotu
kola.(8)
