This study practice guide contains two sections. Section One contains over 500
unique questions covering the subject matter from the International Building.
Section Two has the questions set up in 6 complete Timed Exams of 80 questions
each, just like the real exam.
Studying the code can help you pass the exam, but because of the extremely large
amount of data, exceptions and variations it is impossible to have all that
information flawlessly in your mind. That is why the tests are open book. The best
inspectors rely on the code book, not their recollection of the code. It is extremely
important to be right on the safety issues in the code. If you have a basic
understanding of terminology you should easily be able to pass the exams by
having a fast system down for finding the answers in the book.

Guides
The best way to study for an open book test is by doing open book tests.
By reading a question and then pursuing the answer your mind is forced to
interpret what you read, process that information, and find a solution through
recall, and research. These study exam questions will help you by improving your
skill of three major things needed to pass the exam:
1. You will increase your speed at finding the answers and you will become an
expert on where to find the answers in the code book, this is very important
because this is the only way to be correct 100% of the time.
2. You will learn the answers to many of the questions that will be on the test and
thereby be able to answer them from recall memory, saving you precious time.
3. You will become an expert at managing that time during the test, through test
taking experience.
Good Luck!
very long. Think about how many people you have met only to forget their name.
Why because you did not use their name. Remember, if you dont use it, you lose
it. Sound familiar, well, its true.
So Im learning codes, how do I use them?
method to answer the first practice questions in the workbook. You will probably
be able to find from 3 to 6 answers at first in that twenty minute block, and that
will keep improving as you practice your skills. Now use the recall technique
between each block, reviewing the questions and answers in your mind. You can
be watching TV, eating going for a walk, bike riding playing with the kids, visiting
with friends, or doing nearly anything during this time, actually diversion and
distractions are a good thing when it comes to recall. If you can recall under those
conditions, think how easy it would be on a test with no distractions. Who knew
learning could be this much fun?
Going in 20 minute blocks using recall go through all of the practice questions.
Remember to think about questions and answers that you did in the last 20 minute
block. By the time you are done with the main question area in the book, you will
be pretty good at finding answers in the code book, and you will have memorized
the answers to many of the questions on the exam. Remember, If you can answer
them from memory, accurately you save more time for the ones that you have to
look up in the book.
