PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation, Jersey City, NJ
Network Systems Analyst

2000 2014

Responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining applications that allowed connectivity to the mainframe
network; also responsible for troubleshooting all connectivity issues involving network applications and printers.

Installed and rebuilt Linux server with lost printer data, using underlying applications of Apache, Perl and
MySQL, following the disappearance of the original server during a relocation and office move; rolled out
to worldwide users, restoring self-service access to critical database information regarding printer
functionality, within a tight six week timeframe.
Developed the process of moving the group Linux server to the banks cloud network in order to reduce the
use, and cost of the datacenters physical infrastructure.
Served on the network recovery team that recovered ATM data after the loss of the datacenter in the attacks
of 9/11/2001 and due to our collective efforts all ATMs were back online within a week of the disaster.
Provided second level support for all network printer issues which included restoring lost connections,
defined and implemented new access, and ensured continued access during office moves. Added and
modified printer definitions for over 7,000 devices, utilizing VPS and DRS.
Led the project which implemented the Enterprise Extender environment on the mainframe network to
connect 400 Retail Branch systems, which allowed their data to transmit faster.
Led the project to convert Legacy SNI lines to Enterprise Extender, which reduced the number of
hardwired customer links by 25, and improved throughput of data from the banks datacenters to external
customer sites.
Supervised and co-coordinated the project to re-address the 12 TCP/IP mainframe partitions in the banks
major datacenter.
Configured and performed troubleshooting on all TCP/IP connections to all the mainframe LPARS.
Installed, maintained and supported ConnectDirect (NDM) product, which included installing security keys
and certificates.
Installed and supported session manager, CA/TPX to allow users a single point of access to multiple
applications. This project also reduced the number of session managers used company wide by 40%.
Led the project to reduce printer inventory from over 7,000 devices down to 800 in order to reduce obsolete
equipment, and to streamline the existing network, in preparation for conversion to a new application
system.
Provided 24x7 technical support to entire user community network on a rotational basis.
