Introduction

This contribution proposes the mapping of the ACM with BCI other than subscriber free to 183
and mapping the 183 to ACM with no indication BCI.

In some scenarios where the interowrking is ISUP-IMS-ISUP, when the received ACM message on the I7MGCF has the BCI set to interworking encountered or when the ACM has the Optional BCI with bit H
set to 1 - user-network interaction occurs, cut through in both directions, it is critical that the O-MGCF
to send an ACM message back to the originating exchange with BCI bits FE set to 00 (no indication) and
other bits set to their default values (bit I is set to 1 interworking encountered).

Waiting for Ti/w2 timer to expire instead of interworking the 183 Session Progress to the ACM and vise
versa, may be late to keep the mentioned critical scenarios from call dropping.

Receipt of ACM

On receipt of the ACM, the I-MGCF shall send the SIP 180 Ringing if the value of the Called Partys Status
Indicator in the Backwards Call Indicator (BCI) field parameter of the ACM is set to Subscriber Free. If the Called
Partys Status Indicator is set to no indication or any value other than subscriber free, the ACM is mapped to
Session Progressinterworking of the ACM message is FFS. Details are shown in Table 1.
