This weekly e-mail highlights interesting internship opportunities and other important information that will
aid you in securing an internship! The internships listed below are just a sampling of what is available. For
complete listings of all current internships, log on to connectSC at http://careers.usc.edu. New internships
are added daily.
The Dream Dollars Program is a unique “scholarship” program for undergraduates. The USC Dream
Dollars Program provides stipends for USC students who receive internships with a non-profit or
government organization. This program will support students hoping to gain work experience from an
unpaid internship. Students will be selected through an application and interview process. All internships
must be a minimum of six weeks during the summer. The program provides a stipend of $1,200 for each
student. For more information please stop by the Internship Programs Office in STU B-1or attend one of
our Dream Dollars Information Sessions on either February 9th or 16th, 12-12:30pm or March 2nd, 1-
1:30pm in STU B-3.
The Scheyer Family Scholarship for Summer Interns, established in December of 2007, will provide an
award of $2,500.00 to two students enrolled in approved summer internships. Preference will be given to
sophomores, juniors or seniors with demonstrated financial need. Student recipients must have a major in
the USC College of Letters, Arts & Sciences and must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Students
must be in good academic standing and must have a graduation date between December 2010 and May
2013. Students must have an internship prior to applying for this scholarship. For more information please

February 17th in STU B-6 or March 23rd, 12-12:30pm in STU B-3.
PAID INTERNSHIPS
BANDAI – Summer Internship Program (Tokyo, Japan)
As one of the world's leading toy companies, Bandai is constantly searching for new ways to
conceptualize, develop, and market products. Having been an innovator in the field for over fifty

has the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and learn the public relations business at a mid-sized

FELLOWSHIPS
City of Chicago, Mayor’s Office Fellowship Program
The Office of the Mayor of the City of Chicago is in the process of recruiting graduate students for the
2010 Mayor’s Office Summer Fellowship Program. The Mayor's Office Fellowship Program is a
wonderful opportunity for graduate students in any concentration who will be enrolled during the summer
and are interested in local government and public policy. Fellows have the opportunity to learn about
municipal government and participate in a unique, hands-on experience in the development of new policy
and program initiatives. Participants research policies and evaluate their potential benefit to Chicago,
draft memoranda for Mayor’s Office senior staff on upcoming issues and new initiatives, and participate
in a variety of talks and tours that provide insight into how City government operates. Candidates are
selected on a nationwide basis from public and private colleges and universities. Candidates must be
current students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or a minimum cumulative GPA of
4.0 on a 5.0 scale. Fellows are not classified as full-time employees. Residency in the City of Chicago is
required prior to starting the fellowship program. Relocation is at the applicant’s expense. Fellows are
paid at a rate of $20 per hour. International students must have an F-1 Student Visa and must be a full-
time student. International students are required to have a social security number/card which states
“VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION.” Completed applications for
participation in the summer session (June 14, 2010 through August 27, 2010) must be postmarked no later
than FEBRUARY 19, 2010. Candidates must submit an application, which requires two writing samples
and two letters of recommendation, as well as a resume, official transcript and letter of enrollment. To

for eligibility and qualifications. Applicants will be selected for interviews and based upon the results of
the interview process, a final selection of fellows will be made.
