Smart controllers are an emerging technology for adjusting irrigation applications based on actual

weather and soil conditions. The concept of adjusting irrigation application to meet prevailing
climate and weather conditions is as old as irrigated agriculture. The technology to control irrigation
application automatically has been included in large-scale commercial systems for some time, but is
relatively new to the residential and small commercial sectors. Over the past five years the number
of smart controller products on the market has increased dramatically with different manufacturers
opting for different control technology solutions.

About the Department:

The Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department was one of the first few disciplines that was
started at the time of the inception of the Institution of the year 2007. We strive to produce
Electrical Engineers who can participate in technical advancement, enable social upliftment of the
country and to meet growing global challenges. At present the department is equipped with the
qualified and experienced faculty members having a broad spectrum of specialization. The
department consists of eleven laboratories with state of the art facilities. The department has the
NIs Lab VIEW Centre to cater the needs of students community. The department offers an
undergraduate course BE Electrical & Electronics Engineering and a PG Programme ME Power
Electronics and Drives. The major strength of the department is the well placed alumnis.

About the Conference:

The International Conference on Green Computing, Communication and Electrical Energy

(ICGCCEE14) aims to bring researchers, scientists, engineers and scholar students together to
exchange and share their experiences, new ideas, and the research outcome of all possible aspects
of Green Computing, Communication, Conservation of Energy, Renewable energy sources and to
discuss the practical challenges encountered and the solutions. Green computing or green IT, refers

to environmentally sustainable computing or IT. As computing becomes increasingly pervasive, the

energy consumption attributable to computing is increasing despite the clarion call to action to
reduce consumption and reverse greenhouse effect. Research continues into key areas such as
making the use of computers as energy-efficient as possible, designing algorithms and systems for
efficiency related computer technologies.

The mobile industry is seen as a potential enabler to reduce greenhouse gases. To meet the
requirement of low-carbon economy development, it is necessary to reduce the operation
expenditure or energy consumption of mobile networks, while maintaining acceptable quality of
service. The conference aims to establish a forum to bring together research professionals from
diverse fields including green mobile networks, system architectures, networking & communication
protocols, applications, tested and prototype, traffic balance and energy efficient, Co-operation
transmission system and application issues. Replacing the classical energy with alternative green
energy, such as bioenergy, solar energy and promoting the use of clean energy, and that way,
pollution emissions to the air will be reduced. Biofuel derived from plant materials is among the
most rapidly growing renewable energy technologies. Photovoltaic technology makes use of the
energy in the sun, and it has little impact on the environment. Photo voltaic can be used in a wide
range of products, from small consumer items to large commercial solar electric systems. This
conference brings together the challenging technical aspects for supporting and producing
renewable energy with less or no impact on the ecosystems. We solicit both academic, research, and
industrial contributions. We welcome technical papers presenting research and experimental
results, position papers addressing the pros and cons of specific proposals, such as those being
discussed in the standard fora or in industry consortia, survey papers addressing the key problems
and solutions on any of the above topics are research papers on work in progress.

The present work shows an experimental investigation of using a combination of solar and wind
energies as hybrid system for electrical generation under the Jordanian climate conditions. The
generated electricity has been utilized for different types of applications and mainly for space heating
and cooling. The system has also integration with grid connection to have more reliable system.
Measurements included the solar radiation intensity, the ambient temperature, the wind speed and
the output power from the solar PV panels and wind turbine. The performance characteristic of the PV
panels has been obtained by varying the load value through a variable resistance. Some major
factors have been studied and practically measured; one of them is the dust effect on electrical
production efficiency for photovoltaic panels. Another factor is the inclination of the PV panels, where
varying the angle of inclination has a seasonal importance for gathering the maximum solar intensity.
Through mathematical calculation and the collected and measured data, a simple payback period has
been calculated of the hybrid system in order to study the economical aspects of installing such a
system under Jordanian climate conditions and for different usages and local tariffs including
domestic, industrial and commercial applications. It was found through this work that the generated

electricity of hybrid system and under Jordanian climate conditions can be utilized for electrical
heating and cooling through split units and resistive heaters.

Modeling and building hybrid system of PV and wind turbine. Investigation of the electrical
generation under AmmanJordans climate. Configuration of theoretical and actual characteristics of
the hybrid system. Testing effects of dust, inclination and load on the electrical generation.
Financial analysis for various applications.

VTP strategies for enabling largescale production of cost-competitive

PHEVs are based on three complementary component- and system-level
technology pathways:
1) Reduce the cost of electrochemical energy storage by developing lithium-ion
batteries and other advanced energy
storage technologies that afford higher
energy densities without sacrificing
safety and performance.
2) Enable the use of advanced energy
storage technologies in vehicle
systems by developing low-cost
advanced power electronics and
electric motor components.
3) Develop and validate models and
simulation tools to predict the performance, fuel economy, and emissions
of advanced vehicle systems, in
conjunction with laboratory and field

the operational characteristics of
advanced electric-drive vehicles. collaborates with industry, universities, and national laboratories to
conduct

fundamental research on next-generation energy storage and electric-drive

technologies as well as applied research
that addresses the cross-cutting barriers inhibiting the commercialization
of advanced electric-drive vehicles.
Technology development conducted in
collaboration with industry partners
including vehicle manufacturers and
component developers and suppliers
enables rapid integration of new technologies into commercial vehicles.

VTP has driven important advances in

the electric-drive technologies needed
to secure the nations energy future. In
collaboration with industry, universities,
and national laboratories, VTP continues
to develop the next-generation energy
