Job Description

MISSIONS

To ensure the performance of the CONTRACTOR and Subcontractors is achieving the


Project Quality requirements.

Coordinate all Site/Yard Quality Control Activities.

The QC SITE WELDING SUPERVISOR has an Hierarchical Link to the SPS Company Site
Representative and to the SPS QA/QC Lead Engineer. He/she has a Functional Link to the SPS
Senior Welding Engineer, NDE Engineer and Coating Specialist for all technical matters involving
quality control activities.

ACTIVITIES

In coordination with Package QA/QC Lead Engineer and the Site Representative, attend QC
site activities link to Welding and perform direct interventions as required.

Working in close relation with the QC SITE NDT SUPERVISOR Participate in the QC
Activities, involving, establishment of the necessary documentation (plan, procedures),
qualifications of welding, NDE and painting activities.

Review of material test certificates, in process inspections reports, such as welding, NDE,
dimensional, painting.

Assist the Package QA/QC Lead Engineer in developing and implementing a suitable Audit
Programme to cover Internal, External and Surveillance audit activities during all Fabrication
phases.

Assist the Package QA/QC Lead Engineer in implementing the continual improvement
processes, (Lessons Learned, Customer Satisfaction)

Coordination of Site QC activities to ensure that COMPANY and CONTRACTOR Quality


Control Requirements are identified and implemented in accordance with Package specified
requirements.

In coordination with Package QA/QC Lead Engineer, analyse and resolve issues and
problems emerging during the quality control activity.

In coordination with Package QA/QC Lead Engineer, review Non Conformance reports and
dispositions. Intervene as necessary where warranted.

In coordination with Package QA/QC Lead Engineer, ensure proper root cause analysis of
CONTRACTOR Quality failures is undertaken, and conclusions are reached and corrective
actions undertaken.

In coordination with Package QA/QC Lead Engineer, participate in CONTRACTOR


investigations of significant Quality failures and offshore/installation failures.

Review and validate manufacturing records.

Review and comment all related manufacturing record books.

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT

The Project involves a Floating Production Unit, Tension Leg Platform, Sub-sea Production
Systems, Underwater Flowlines and Risers and Drilling/Completion works will be executed in
several international sites, including Congo.

The Project is a deep water development in 1100 m water depth and 75 km east of
Congoles coast.

OBSERVATIONS

Located : CONTRACTOR Construction Site, Egersund, Norway

Starting date: June 2014

Duration: 1 year renewable

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Qualification: Education to HND/BTS level or COMPANY approved equivalent in engineering


discipline.
Professional Experience (number of years): Minimum 10 years of experience associated with
Quality Control, Welding activities within Construction and pre-commissioning of various facilities in
the Oil and Gas Industry.
Vocational qualifications: Welding (CSWIP or equivalent)

The ability to communicate well at all levels within the COMPANY and to demonstrate
leadership. In addition, the candidate must possess very good planning, presentation,
negotiations and organizational skills.

Confident in Welding for Structure and Duplex / Superduplex.

Others Requirements:
A familiarity with General Specifications (GS) and International codes/standards.
Be skilled in using computer programs for word processing, database management, spreadsheets
and e-mail communications.
Conducting Quality meetings with CONTRACTOR and Fabricator. Review material certificates and
Inspection and Test Plans
HSE:

Support and enforce the HSE Project objectives and directives.

Support and implement the Project HSE management system.
