HELP from Germany is a German non-government charity organization. Since around 30 years
we have focused on fulfilling peoples most important needs. Help is engaged in emergency
assistance as well as in rehabilitation and development projects. Whenever possible we are
linking emergency aid with self-help. It is our aim to encourage the efforts made by the
community affected by catastrophes and misery in order to have them improve their living
circumstances themselves.
HELP is based in Cebu City and in Ormoc City and currently works in the field of school and
kindergarten repair/rehabilitation and reconstruction, livelihood activities in the fishing industry
sector, Water Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion among others.
HELP has the following vacancy in our Ormoc City Office for an initial 6 months term.
SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT WORKER / COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
Main Responsibilities:
The Social Development Worker / Community Development Officer is responsible for providing
community based social services to identified groups, individuals and families within applicable
legislation in order to protect and improve the social well-being and functioning of the targeted
beneficiaries.

To initiate, facilitate and develop a social process in affected and targeted communities,
collective analysis of community problem, mapping up community needs and identify
priorities for collective action leading to solution of their underlying vulnerabilities and
needs.
To provide continuous guidance to identified communities in the selection and
implementation of the projects and make that process self-sustaining and self-managing
To conduct baseline survey of the beneficiaries to establish baseline data of the
community on same key indicators to measure impact of the project.

To develop and maintain the necessary documentation and records of all project
activities. Maintain and up-date all records at office level.
To deal with the community as a front line contract and provide full support to the head
of mission for smooth implementation of the project activities.
Liaison and close networking with local partner organization including government
agencies, local CSO, NGOs and other community member etc.

Basic Requirements:

Male / Female
College level degree & Licensed Social Worker
At least three (3) years professional work experience on the job
Experience in working on the grass root level with a strong focus on NGO related social
activities
Fluent verbal and written communicate skills in English and Bisaya.
Ability to solve problems and make decisions and being able to work under pressure.
Having worked for an international NGO is an advantage.
