ASPEK FARMAKOEKONOMI PADA PERAWATAN PASIEN KANKER

PAYUDARA DALAM SEGI PERAWATAN PALIATIF DAN ISLAM

Abstract
Background: Cancer has long been a health problem and well-known as the silent killer. In women, breast cancer is
the most common worldwide cancer. The main problem in the prevention of cancer is the cost of treatment and a
long time therapy. This is not only caused economic losses for people but also for families and governments. The
purpose of this case report is to present the clinical evidence related Pharmacoeconomics aspects associated with
therapy for breast cancer.
Case presentation: A woman, 52 years old at diagnosis by a doctor since one year ago with terminal breast cancer.
The cancer is in fact already doing metastase to the liver, lungs, bones, and skin tissues as well as to the axillary
lymph nodes. Families of patients had complained about the cost of treatment in patients with cancer who knew
require considerable costs, because at that time the facility for patient service users Health Insurance (ASKES) at the
hospital where patients are treated not yet available. In addition, other treatments such as chemotherapy and
radiation also requires its own costs in the treatment of cancer.
Discussion: In palliative care that emphasizes quality of life of patients, there are aspects that should be noted
Pharmacoeconomics. Pharmacoeconomics aspect considering the issue of the treatment of the results to be achieved
and policies to guide decisions about treatment that should be used in general and must be paid by the patient and
the treatment to be paid by the government or other third-party payers. Cancer therapy done in three main ways,
namely surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. Although very effective for treating various types of cancer, surgery
and radiation therapy is purely local. Most patients have disease that has spread at diagnosis so that local therapy
often fails to eliminate cancer as a whole. In some observers, Pharmacoeconomics problems related treatment in
cancer patients not only seen from the common knowledge, but it can be seen from religious knowledge.
Conclusion and Suggestion: With the increasing attention to the cost of the current health care, health care
providers need data analysis costs to obtain information related to health economics of drug therapy to align costs
provide patients with treatment effectiveness. Should knowledge of Pharmacoeconomics concerning the treatment of
cancer patients is associated with the law regarding the treatment of religious knowledge in Islam
